Score!!! (aka Blind Squirred syndrome)

Post by Thunder50 »

Took kid to college this week (empty nester here and yes, I did shed a few tears) and hung around to see if they needed anything they forgot.
Figured might hit a gun shop or two today. Found one, but nothing there of interest. Was heading back to the room and saw some guy on a sidewalk waving a sign the said "guns". See many of them for homes, pizza, ect. but this was a first for guns

Walked in, nothing spectacular, but saw a few Marlins and went to look. Spotted a 336CB and figured 45-70 or 38-55, but it was a
336CB in 30-30!!! Haven't seen one in years. Guy said that the old guy that bought it shot it two times and sent it back to Marlin because the trigger was gritty, but never shot it when he got it back(don't know if I quite believe that, but it has been shot very little)

After waiting about an hour for the "insta-check" (kind of like Jumbo Shrimp!!) I left the shop a happy camper.

Sorry, no pics as no camera with me. Will post them when I can.

So in one day you became an empty nester and then eased your 'grief 'by stuffing the hole in your heart with a somewhat collectable levergun.

You oughtta to be some kind of counselor.

"Go buy yourself a nice levergun. You'll feel much better."

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Hmmm, I've got one more kid to boot out - that makes a good gun buying excuse huh? Great!!!

Congrats and do post pics of that when you get back to the nest.

Congrats, nice score! I've actually found a couple of my best deals when just wanderin' in someplace to kill time, or at flea markets.

+1 on all!

One hour for the instant check? I picked up a very used Remington 550-1 from my local candy store on Friday. Took longer to fill out the federal form (which I can now do in my sleep) than the call. Gosh I love living in South Carolina!

OK, back home, so here are the pics. Range report will have to come later. Don't know if this is the origional box, as my cb 38-55 had the data on one of the end flaps but these are blank.

The box is a generic one that the factory sent back with the rifle after the repair.
