I think I hear it begging you to go to a range and shoot it.

Me either. Nice looking, and I'll bet it reduces muzzle-rise. 8)

My first shot with my 24" .45-70 was startling but 20 rounds later muzzle rise was hardly noticeable and recoil isn't all that bad.

My first shot from my .45-70 Contender was more than startling - the stop screw on the rear of the triggerguard drew blood ! . :P . :P . :P

Of course, it was an original, smaller Contender (pre-G2) 16" Super 14 Hunter w/Muzzle Tamer - but T/C's then-new rubber backstrapped walnut grips went right into the trash, and I promptly installed Pachmayr rubber bumbers.

I've never shot that light of a .45-70 carbine/rifle - I can't wait, for your range report.
