? Interchangable Forearms Win 1873 - 1892 ?

Post by missionary5155 »

Good morning
A feller sugested the two Octagon forearms are interchangable ? I had figured they were different as the wood shops have a different stock # for the 1873 and the 1892. Cannot remember ever hearing anyone successfully placing a 92 forearm on a 1873.
Anyone tried to place a 92 on a 73 rifle ? I would give it a wirl but I do not have a 73 down here in Peru with me.
Thanks ! Mike in Peru

Hi Mike,
I think the barrels on 1873's are a heavier profile than 1892's.
