What kind of money are we talking about here? $15-20k? I'm pretty shotgun illiterate but would like to learn.

"stunning" just does not seem to be adequate enough of a description!
Re: LC Smith Chain Damascus 10 Gauge Restoration.
I have some safe smokeless loads that should work in this gun as I shoot them in my 10 gauge damascus W.C.Scott 10 gauge . Well that is if whomever owns that gun is intrested in shooting it !casastahle wrote:Unfortunately Mike D. this is not my gunMike D. wrote:BEA-U-TI-FUL!! Are you loading BP shells for that gun?

Here are a couple pics from a post Xmas pre New Years Dove Hunt ! Well actually a pair of dove hunts !
I used a Ross Seyfrieds 2 7/8" 10 gauge load for this ! Was SR7___ powder and 1 1/4 ounces #8 shot ! Sorry I don't remmember the powder number or charge off the top of my head ! But it was the IMR SR powder that starts with a 7 .
The other shotgun in this third pic is a 16 gauge Ernst Kettener 16 gauge I carried along loaded with #4 for long shots .
I also took the old W.C. deer hunting this season . I carried it and a Ruger #1 at the same time . Idea was if I could get a close shot I would us the 10 gauge . And I got my oppurtunity at 26 lasered yards . Used exact same powder charge with twelve 00 Buck .
She dropped at the boom of the gun ! I only found 3 entrance wounds ! One in the head and two along the backbone .

Re: LC Smith Chain Damascus 10 Gauge Restoration.
Of all the deer I've taken in my almost 50 years of existance thats the FIRST I've ever killed with buckshot ! And the fact that I used my grandfathers old gun and my own handloads made it that much better !casastahle wrote:chadbr wrote:That is really impressive.

I would like the roll crimping tool in the picture!! Need one in 10ga and 24ga.
Re: LC Smith Chain Damascus 10 Gauge Restoration.
I had thoughts of doing that with the 10 gauge before I actually started reloading for it !Marlin32 wrote:I would like the roll crimping tool in the picture!! Need one in 10ga and 24ga.
But after getting the el cheapo MEC 600JR and a 10 gauge short kit it was a snap to load anything for the gun !
