I gave myself a Christmas present I have wanted for a long time.I bought a 1980 model Ruger M-77 26 in heavy bbl rifle in 220 Swift. The rifle has Ruger Med. bases with a TASCO world class 6x24 Target scope on top.
It is a beautiful classic rifle in excellent shape. I have rounded up 200 rds of Win brass and dies.I just need the weather to turn around for some range time.I bought it from a fellow who needed some Christmas money. We both did OK
Happy New Year to all !!! May it be a happy, healthy and prosperous 2011 !!!

That sounds like a nice setup. I've always wanted a Swift.
You are not the lone sinner either! I got myself a Christmas bolt gun too, as did another forum member that will remain nameless unless he decides to own up to turning me on to the deal we both got! Dick's had a big sale on Remington 700 Varmints. We both picked one up in 308 Win.

Me too, Santa brought me a tastefully sporterized Springfield Armory Model of 1903 (1928 Manuf) in a walnut Bishop stock with a Lyman micrometer receiver sight and a hooded Dahl ramp front sight. Has a very nice bluing job done on it. Has not been drilled and tapped.
I am such a sucker for sporterized military rifles.
Ain't sure what the problem was/is, but I don't get it? Did you mean "sinned" or possibly "signed"? One can be forgiven... (not to might light of religious beliefs, but simply comedic relief), just say a few rosaries, and then buy the five most active members on the forum a new Levergun of their choice!!!
Wait! Wait! Wait! Scratch that! Buy the NINE most active posters a new Levergun of their choice!!!

There is a fine line between hobby & obsession! AND... I'm over it!!
No I ain't ready, but let's do it anyway!
I think you have sinned a mighty sin. To repent, box that no good thing up and send it down here to Texas and I'll perform an exorcism on it. Don't forget to send the brass and dies also since they may also be afflicted. I most warn you while this a must to do, it is also a LLLOOONNNGGGG drawn out process.
I dunno about Santa or anyone else giving it to me , but I finally succombed to the 257 Weatherby and purchased a NIB Remington 700CDL blued fluted rifle in 257 Weatherby and a new Redfield 4-12 to free up one of my old Leupold 4.5-14x scopes to put on the 257 Weatherby !
Got this rifle monday before Christmas and already have a suitable handload shooting the Hornady 129 grain SST worked up with RL-22 . Matter of fact I've been hunting with the rifle since Christmas day
Parkers , Mannlicher Schoenauer’s , 6.5mm's and my family in the Philippines !
Had one, never should have sold it.
Just got a 700 Sendero in .220, haven't had time to scope it and shoot it yet, but pretty sure this one isn't going anywhere.
Buncha' lucky dogs, you guys that got something you always wanted. Me, I was sitting here innocently trying to figure out a new load for 35 Rem. using RL10x. Seems like that should be a good fit, doesn't it? But no data I can find. Young fellow comes bouncing in saying "Hi, G-pa" (always a bad sign). Seems work has been pretty slow lately, paychecks skinny, and rent is overdue (plus child support, etc.)
So I acquire a Browning A-bolt 7mm shortmag I have no interest in and no need for. (I would have thought it was mighty fine about 30 years ago in a different lifetime).
And there went a good part of the stash I was accumulating toward... well, at this time I don't have any Win '86s, and that, my friends, may be a sin!
