Online ballistic calculator

Post by Marc »

This is a good one! It lets you input sight height, zero range, and all the other essentials. It will give drop figures for 10 ranges out to whatever you select as a maximum. For example for the 30-30 you can do 20 yard increments to 200 yards. It uses either G1 or G7 B.C.'s. I used the G1 figures as I think G7 is for VLD bullets. Great tool! Go here and click on the ballistics program to run. I did have to update Java to make it work but that is a simple thing using their link.

I prefer this free one on Handloads.com because it will calculate the BC for your bullet type and plug it into the calculator.

That one looks very similar. It has a simpler layout too. Output looks the same.

Basic bullet shapes - I think G1 is a flatbase spitzer.
