It's almost Christmas, time for the letters to Santa

Post by J Miller »

OK boys and girls, since Christmas is a bit over 3 months away, what ONE lever action repeating rifle are you going to ask Santa for?

Dear Santa,

Please, please, please, put a Winchester 1894 Rifle, full octagon barrel, full length magazine chambered for the 30 WCF under my tree this year. It don't have to have AAA wood, or color cased parts, walnut and blued steel is fine.

I can't say I've been a good boy, but I haven't been particularly bad either. Sooooo, how about it? I gotta whoole platter full of chocolate cookies and milk ready just for you.

Dear Santa(or sixgun, Mike D, Kirk), I have been pretty good this year, and helped some people at the hospital, and put up with my wifes final semester at nursing school so, I would like an late 1800'-early 1900's model 1894 in 38-55,with the full octagon barrel and full length mag. It doesn't have to be new looking because I prefer the "been there done that" look so any 100 or so year old model 1894 you have stacked in the corner would be fine. Thank you. Tom
PS If you get it for me I will let all flying reindeer have a free pass.

On the far outside chance of it Happening -- I want an ANIB Winchester Model 1894 -38-55 Cal.
Santa has other things on HER mind.
I don't want Santa to get the wrong one. Is there any other markings on the Barrel that I should include in My request ?
Oh !! Octagon barrel

I'd like a Uberti 73 short rifle in 32/20 but I know I haven't been anywhere near good enough for Santa to even consider me.

I wouldn't mind having the one I saw a picture of some years ago. It was a Winchester 1895 full length rifle with a beautiful tapered octagon barrel in 303 British. Talk about drooling on my keyboard :P

I've been fairly well behaved, have a new shiloh on order, and really have no burning desire for anymore guns. Altho if a model P 5.5 inch barrel in 38wcf turned up I wouldn't send it back.

I hope so but that plays into another of my hobbies. :D

Honestly a Stevens Favorite 44 1/2 in 32-20 would have to be on my list.

Oops you said REPEATING rifle. Well in that case an Uberti 1876 in 45-60 would fit the bill.

I'd like a Ruger 96 in .44 Mag, just so I'd have a 'spare'.

...better yet, If they'd make one in .480 RUGER, I'd like that even better..!

Had to think on this one. I would love a Marlin 336 in 35 Rem, one of the older Pre-safety rifles. Just like the one Terry got from Santa last year, that would make my XMAS.

Dear Santa:

I'm very happy with what I have and can't really think of anything else I want. You can take a break this year from stopping by and make sure you pass by another leverguns board member's home.

Momma just spent the Christmas funds for us on new furniture for the family room. I can't complain - the couch and recliners are 15 years old, and still in very good shape. We'll donate those to a charity (there is a home for unwed mothers nearby that we have supported over the years, and the rocker-recliners are perfect chairs for nursing babies in). So, no levergun in my immediate future...

If, however, Santa was so inclined, I'd ask for one of the new Rossi "Mare's Leg" that are coming out next month. They call them the "Ranch Hand". I saw them at the NRA show in Charlotte in May. Half the price of the Chiappa versions.

Maybe if I am really good SWMBO will let me get one for my birthday! :D

I'd like a Rossi 92, stainless, .44MAG, with a handy 16" barrel. I don't have any lever-guns yet so this would be a nice starter.

At this juncture I'd like Santa to supply a Stainless Ruger Old Army. Pretty much got everything else I want that doesn't require custom gunsmithing.
