OT Prayer request

Post by Sighthunter »

My Father's cousin David Casady of Webber's Falls Oklahoma has just had a car wreck. We do not know all the details, but he has a collapsed lung and was care flighted to a hospital in Tulsa. Please pray for his recovery. Thank you.

Update, Cousin David A. Casady is out of the hospital and at home. He has several broken ribs, a severely bruised lung, and some spinal fractures. The spinal fractures are painful, but not in any danger of cutting any nerves. He was T-Boned from the side as he left a stop sign and was not wearing a seatbelt. He was thrown out the passenger window and the other pickup caved in the driver's side where he would have been killed if wearing a seatbelt. I do know that seatbelts do save lives, but in this case it wouldn't have. Thanks to all for the prayers.

I am so very glad to hear this. On another forum a very fine family lost their young 2LT to a motor vehicle accident. The young lady was also not wearing her seatbelt. WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!

I'm really glad he's going to be ok.

I get scolded all the time for my opinion on seatbelts, but IMHO they're 6 of one, a half-dozen of the other. The only major accident I've ever had, in a police car before the required wearing of seat belts, had I had one on I wouldn't be writting this. I've seen several, dozens, of accidents where it could go either way. I've seen air bags save more lives than I have ever seen seatbelts, but they're a two-edged sword too.

Devonna and Brian,
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

But I will say;
I'm here today because of a seat belt.

When I was 16 I wanted a Jeep CJ7.
The Old Man told me I could have it (i'd worked all summer for my first set of wheels), if I promised that
I would wear my seat belt.
Six months later I got hit from behind, spun around and flipped over. The Jeep was totaled but aside from
a good thump on the back from a soft ball bat I had in the rear I was fine.
I'll never drive with out one again.
