Here in Sunny Cali-pornya, the temps have not crossed the mid-90s in a couple of weeks. Today, and through the rest of the weekend, it's supposed to stay in the high 80s. Humidity is around 20%, so it is not a factor in our weather patterns. We are headed to our place on the Coast, where the days have not exceeded 66º and fog is the norm in the mornings and evenings. I'll have to maybe wear a long sleeved t-shirt with my shorts. :D

I use the weatherunderground site for my weather info. They have a sensor somewhere near my house. Yesterday afternoon the temperature was reported as 109. Kevin

We started hunting two saturdays ago here in central VA and the temp that afternoon when we drove thru town on the way to the prchard was 104 degrees !

We went back monday last week and it was still over 100 as it was tuesday as well !

It lessened later in the week , last week . This monday it was a cool 84 , last evening we went out to the orchard and it was a balmy 92 , but atleast the breeze was blowing nicely !

You guys have had all our summer.......We've been having nice cool foggy mornings and 60 to 70 in the afternoon. Don't look to change anytime real soon. I like it, tho.

Just checked the thermometer and 100 here. Heat index probably 120. I know it was 116 at 96 degrees.

Warmest summer I can recall but sure I've experienced hotter years ago. Lots of moisture here too. Crops doing great but this much heat not good for them. Grass growing very fast for this time of the year and thank goodness my mowing days are about over. If you have strong interests mowing is a terrible waste of time--LIFE!

1936 was the real scorcher for the country. Many records still standing from that year.

Here in the Pine Belt it's a little cooler than the last couple of days. Right now at 1424 it's 96 degrees with 58% humidity with a heat index of 114.

I could go for a balmy 89. The thermometer in my vehicle read 107 this afternoon. I think the official high was 105. Last week was the same and we have at least another week of it. I am praying for my AC unit.

I live too close to Lake Michigan for it to get real hot. Over the last week
it was been in the mid to high 80's and a bit of humidity. I was stationed
at Fort Riley, KS from 1983-86 and it was very hot there, the highest I
recall was 108 degrees. I never got used to that kind of heat, but temps in
the 90's never really bothered me.

Beaker, only 20mph? In 1983 Dodge City recorded 365 straight days of windspeed above 20mph. That was my senior year in high school, and in Liberal it was just as bad. Is it any wonder that the few trees you see in Western Kansas all lean to one side?

Was 104 at 6:00pm here Tuesday, and then the home AC blew a capacitor. Miserable evening. Thankfully got it fixing yesterday morning. AC tech said he'd replaced over 200 capacitors in my area in the last two weeks, he's been working from dawn to dark. Hot summer and it's just now August.

About 10 years ago we had a Summer here in North Texas where we had something like 60 days in a row of high temperatures all above 100. I don't miss that Summer. Despite the current heat, it is not as hot as it was then. It is still too hot for my liking.

Last evening is one of the reasons I loved that I grew up in Orange County, CA. It was in the mid-80's, and cooled of to the low 60's. The BIL & I sat out in his patio sippin' a coupla cool ones, and he had to start his kerosene stove as it started to chill off. But... then, whadya expect from a coupla old pharts after a big steak and salad! All the energy we had was goin' to digest that nice ribeye!

Even this morning, short sleeve weather and as mild as you'd ever want it. I've heard it said that in OC, the average temp is 70ºF. But, it only varies by approximately 30º and the humidity stays a fairly constant 80%. They say almost the same of Dallas, TX. Only, the variance fluctuates by 45º and the humidity is a balmy 95-100%!
