Daisy 1894 trouble-Its FIXED!
I have a Daisy 1894 "Spittin' Image" BB gun that's roughly 45 years old. It has very little power now, so you can actually see the BB in flight and it won't shoot more than maybe 15 yards. I've done a partial disassembly, clean, lube, etc., but no change. Spring tension seems normal when cocking. Any idea what needs to be done to restore this to normal operation?

Re: Daisy 1894 trouble
About twenty years ago I sent mine to Daisy. They charged a small fee and sent it back in a new box. Its been working fine ever since.
Re: Daisy 1894 trouble
Springs and/or seals, let Daisy fix it.

Re: Daisy 1894 trouble
Doubt whether Daisy will repair that old timer. I have a Model 25 pump gun that I gave my father nearly 50 years ago (still have the box and all the papers) which has a bad trigger (may be missing a part or two - one of my boys tried to fix it when he was a kid. Um-hum...). At any rate, some time ago I contacted Daisy, and they advised that they do not repair obsolete models. They did however supply a list of people who DO repair the old BB guns. I still haven't contacted any of them, though. Good luck getting your 94 up and running again.

I still have a Daisy Spittin' Image BB Six Gun. It's not quite the SAA I'd like but it's about as powerful as the UK government think I can safely handle.

Because it's a "Spittin' Image" I'm waiting for the government to tell me to paint it orange!Griff wrote:game keeper wrote:I still have a Daisy Spittin' Image BB Six Gun. It's not quite the SAA I'd like but it's about as powerful as the UK government think I can safely handle.![]()

British gov't I understand allow up to a 1000 fps before they require registration- I doubt if a Daisy Spittin image would do anything like that.
In NSW Australia the act is silent on velocity- making a spud gun technically illegal.

Re: Daisy 1894 trouble
I'd bet money that the seals are so dried out they leak air badly. If you can get those seals replaced, there is very little other that can go wrong.

No more than 6ft/lds for a pistol/revolver without any registration. Only M/L (including revolvers) or long barreled revolvers/pistols can be used once a grant is allocated once you have been an active member of a club. No hunting just paper punching.

Re: Daisy 1894 trouble
OK, its finally fixed! Shoots good!
It needed the seals replaced, which consist of:
Part # 1894PHS - synthetic piston seal $19.50
Part # 1894MBW - main barrel washer $1.25
I ordered these from jgairguns.biz
Their shipping charge was pretty high, but I couldn't find the parts anywhere else.
Daisy recommends 20 wt. non-detergent motor oil, which I could not find, so I wound up using a mixture of air compressor oil and Marvel Mystery Oil to thin it a bit.
