Check out the new banner to the updated ACU'RZR page on the http://www.leverguns.com main page. We're still filing down the rough edges, but it's mostly there now - I think... :)

Paco,

I would like to get a tool in 22 Short. I will be shooting 22CB in a small H&R Young American.
Caliper measurement of barrel is .224-.225, chamber mouths run .229-.231.

I will take whatever you think is best as far as which tool I need.

Let me know how much to send and I will get a check out next week.

Jay? Here's the info:
*The 22 SS (SuperShorts) Acu’rzr Deluxe is for 22 rimfire shorts. This small tool finally gives the 22 short shooter the accuracy from some brands of inexpensive 22 rimfire shorts that has been missing all these years, it comes with all three forming rods.... $55 post and handling $4.
And here's the link to the order form. Looks like it'd be $59 post paid.

Yes, we lost the new page in a recent server crash. It'll be up ASAP. I'll post here once I get it going again.

I'm not Paco nor have I tried 'em in an AR15 conversion. However, I've been quite pleased with their performance in a 10-22, Remington pump and a Single Six. The version with the slightly smaller hollow point and more rounded nose profile works pretty good in the semi-auto and pump. I've not had a chance to do extensive testing but like what I've seen so far. I see no reason why they'd not work in the AR15 conversions.

I love this tool! I recently did a range test of modified versus unmodified ammo.

My test guns were a Browning BL-22 with a Tasco 1X32 Propoint and a S&W 617 with 4" bbl and stock sights. I tested American Eagle 40gr LRN, Blazer 40 gr LRN and Federal 40 gr copper plated round nose. The only shape I tested that day was the Cup Nose. I had already determined that the .223 dia worked best in the two test guns.

I fired groups with the modified and unmodified rounds at 25 yards. In every case the accurized groups were about 50% the size of the before groups. What really impressed me was the consistency between the different brands after modification. Similar sized groups in the same place.

I forget my camera so no pictures. :-(

The two problems so far are:
  • The modified bullets won't feed in autoloaders. I tried them in a Ruger 22/45 and a 10/22 but both had constant jams from the flattened nose not feeding correctly.
  • I can't use it on the Aguila SSS rounds. The bullet gets pushed back and there is a noticeable bulge just ahead of the case.

Once I get through the surgeries on my wrists I am headed back to the range for some more playing around with this amazing tool. I am also ordering the tool for the CB caps.

The reason I ask is that I ordered one a couple weeks ago from Nevada and have'nt heard nor seen anything since.
Any one know what the turn around time on these things would be, is much appreciated.
Thank you.

Mike,

Paco makes these himself in his shop. They aren't produced in a modern CNC production facility. Consequently it takes a bit for him to get them made and in the mail (and I imagine the USPS's new hours don't help much). So it isn't like ordering from LL Bean. You might have to wait a bit. Then again, you get something that probably should cost you 3-4 times as much given the hands on machine time and that something will be immeasurably useful.
Sincerely,

Hobie

I'd like to see a video clip or step x step pictures of how this tool works? Do you have to bang the rods with a hammer and if so couldn't that set the buttel primer off??
I'd also like to buy this tool. I've seen and read about it before and keep forgetting about it. I need to remind myself.

"Banging" is hardly the word. I have had best results using one or two very light "taps". One usually gets "an educated hammer hand" after a short time using the tool. Even so, there will very likely be a fair number of "too much of a good thing" cartridges as the learning curve is being climbed. Even these loads will be safe enough. They just may be a bit more difficult to chamber and/or a touch less accurate than rounds that receive a lighter touch.

I have one of the older ones - but to be honest, I haven't had the time to play with it much.

I set up my bench rest arbor press for the tool and it turns out a box of modified ammo in short order with no "BANGING". I use a Wilson base made for depriming center fire cases. These can be adjusted to just the right handle throw to get consistant pressure on noses for diameter and shape uniformity. I bought the press from Sinclairs years ago.

I might be late to the party. Are these still being made? What about the ATS? I want one!

Wow!!! what a great tool set. I have only been able to crank out enough to try in my revolver and pt 22 semi auto hand gun. everything worked out well. I can't wait to get time to try it with the ruger 10/22 and my 2 inch 22 mag revolver. In time I would like to do some wound comparisons with these rounds. I couldn't be happier. it looks like it just made already effect weapons even more effective.

I use mine mainly for an old Ruger Bisley Single Six that John Linebaugh did for me 20 plus years ago. It makes the round so much more effective.

Best regards,
