Way OT, Any "LOST" Fans
This isn't any further off-topic than some of the stuff I've seen lately but it is the middle of winter. Are any of you fans of "LOST"? I'm a Sci-Fi nut and freely admit to having seen every episode LOST. For those of you in the know, tonight of course is the season premier of the final season. Which means I'll be able to get my life back after this. I've never purposely watched all of a series' episodes and I honestly watch very little prime time TV. I only know one other person who watches Lost but there must be others somewhere. On a side note and to get back on topic a little, there is a lot of gun slinging action on the show and I'm always surprised at the variety of weapons, although most of it is military style (ie. M1, M1 carbine, AK, SKS, FAL, Mini 14, M4, H&K, and various handguns).

I thought the same thing when The Shield ended but then I found Sons of Anarchy...nemhed wrote:For those of you in the know, tonight of course is the season premier of the final season. Which means I'll be able to get my life back after this.

I have watched it infrequently enough to be completly confused.
Re: Way OT, Any "LOST" Fans
I've seen it all, but I'm glad they gave me a two hour refresher. I love SAMCO!

Re: Way OT, Any "LOST" Fans
Never got into Lost. The only series I've watched from beginning to end is the Sopranos.

Re: Way OT, Any "LOST" Fans
I watched enough episodes the first season to realize (at least in my case) that "Lost" referred to the viewers and not the series.
I have friends who are avid "Lost" fans, and I'm glad it works for them.

Might as well face it, you're addicted to guns . . .

It lost me after the second season. The kids like it though.
I just don't want to think that much after 9pm.

Ha. You had to watch every episode to figure out why Hurley keeps getting fatter. They get regular air drops of food and the castaways made Hurley "Permanent Food Orderly."
I love Sci-fi, but Lost lost me after season 1. Then I only watched it for the brunette. I'd have shot Sawyer withing the first few episodes and used him for fish bait.
When the writers admit they are just making stuff up as they go....well, I'm not wasting any more time.
I'll stick to Star Trek and watching Firefly over and over....and over.
Zoe.....{sigh}
EDIT- I forgot to be honest. I am such a dinosaur that I watched Lost on ABC via C-band satellite (yeah, the big one) We quit watching Lost when I lost the ABC feed.

Re: Way OT, Any "LOST" Fans
Lost, 24, Castle, Mentalist - all witty and engaging with plot twists. Lost is the most confusing, and 24 is clearly the most violent - more than it's healthy to watch. But how will Jack stay alive without my telling him what to do next?
In fact, other than some TV Journalists on Fox, that's about all I care to watch on the boob tube, other than some movies taped earlier on the DVR (digital video recorder)!
Tonight, my 33 year old daughter will visit us, have some dinner, and watch Lost with Mom and Dad. Then (frequently) she explains to us what happened. It's a tradition!

Don't worry - even if you watch every episode, which my wife, Y2K and I do, you'd still be completely confused! But that's part of the fun of it!!!mescalero1 wrote:I have watched it infrequently enough to be completly confused.
I missed the season premiere last night - out traveling on business. Looking forward to watching it with the family when I get back!!!
"Lost" and "24" are the shows we watch...
Re: Way OT, Any "LOST" Fans
If she understands it then she needs to explain it to me and the rest of the "Lost" Nation! Plenty of buzz on the internet from last nights episode. Seriously, it was a gamechanger and a great start to the final season. It was tough enough to follow all the flashforwards, time jumping, and now dual, alternate realities?JohndeFresno wrote:Yup. Re: Way OT, Any "LOST" Fans
Bottom line - that's what it is, according to my house expert - dual realities, because the future was changed but they didn't die in the past, for some reason. We'll have to see the whole year's story, as in past years, to "get" it all. Very cerebral and weird, but entertaining.nemhed wrote:If she understands it then she needs to explain it to me and the rest of the "Lost" Nation!
