OT- Rifle from "Young Guns II" at Auction

Post by Hagler »

Gentlemen,

I found the link to this auction in a post on RimFire Central:

http://www.gunbroker.net/Auction/ViewIt ... m=89891258

"Young Guns II MOVIE GUN Winchester 1873 44-40 "

"This is a Winchester 1873 44-40 rifle made by Uberti. this works and fires live rounds. it is not a blank gun. this was used in the movie Young Guns II and comes with two letters. one from uberti, a full list of firearms with model and serial numbers used in the movie. second is a letter from Young Guns II Productions, Inc. thanking Uberti Arms for use of the guns. Rifle is in nice used condition and shows the signs of use from the movie. small scatches in wood and wear on bluing but does not take away from the gun. ask questions. no 3 day return, it is as shown and described accurately. shipping and insurance is included in your final price. need ffl. trades considered "

I wonder what it will fetch. The starting bid is $4,500!

Lets see, $4500 starting bid for an Uberti 1873 used in a second rate movie - OR .......... $1200 (?) for a brand new one which leaves $3200 for brass, bullets, powder, two Uberti single actions to match with leather, and a Navy Arms 1897. Pants, shirts, vest, hat, boots, CAS member ship and I'll still have enough funds left to buy lunch.

Lets see now, choices choices .............. wow this is hard.

That may be one of the rare instances where provenence hurts the items value.
