OT- Texas Levergunners, etc.

Post by Hagler »

Gentlemen,

I want to ask everyone to remember our Texas brothers during this time of "bad weather".

I just heard on my local news broadcast that someone was killed by his carport falling on him. He lived outside of Port Arthur, where our own Steve Young lives.

Texas Levergunners, are you all alright?

All is OK here in Dallas, but the gulf coast has taken a lot of wind and rain.
Thanks for asking.

Haven't heard about any of this. But, then I don't listen to the news, and am currently in central Washington state. Spent today and will spend tomorrow delivering new wine barrels to various small wineries. Love the smell of oak. Even the french oak barrels. Weather's been perfect since I left AZ. Haven't heard any negative reports from the home front, so I assume all is well there. Thanks for your thoughts Hagler.

Was a bit of an odd one -- went from "rain tomorrow" to hurricane in about a day or so. It just sat off the coast and started spinning up.

Anyhow -- mostly just the coast - I'm in NW Houston and didn't see a drop.

Hope everything is OK down there in Galveston, etc.

I appreciate your concern. A category 1 hurricane wasn't too scary after Rita came through a couple of years ago. Here in Beaumont there were lots of folks with no electricity for a while, but structural damage was pretty hard to find. Lots of small limbs in the yard, but not too bad. I was amused that the guy from the Weather Channel was standing in a ditch so the standing water would look more impressive. Typical media hype.

Thanks be to God that the storm wasn't worse.
