Win 94AE trapper eject problems

Post by 30hrrtt »

I have a 94ae trapper in 44 mag I picked up last summer. It did not eject so I ordered a new eject spring. After installing it, it ejected but still a little weak. I really like the rifle and got two buck with it last season. Great for walking the sides of the steep hills I hunt. Empties hang up in it occassionally though and it makes me a little worried it will happen at the wrong time.

Is there a heavier spring I can get for it?

Any suggestions?

Sorry you are having trouble but if you replaced that spring you may need to look else where.
How is the extractor claw? Has it worn down some?
Sometimes the extractor can get sticky in it's groove on the side of the bolt.

I agree with Nath. If after replacing the ejector spring you're still having troubles something else is the matter.

Did you make sure the ejector is free to move in it's slot?

Also there have been several people report bent extractors on their 94AEs.
If the extractor is not holding the case in place as it's extracted it will not eject properly.
