Prayer Request for Paco Kelly...UPDATED INFO

Just received this from Paco's son-in-law:

It's Rico,

Today 1515hrs Paco was feeling dizzy and passed out. I was there and was able to get him E.M.S. His blood pressure was quite low and also was his heart rate. He was taken to the hospital by E.M.S. and we are there now. I will keep you all informed as to what is going on.

I don't have the emails for the Shootist on hand. Please forward.

Please pray for my Dad.

Definitely. Praying for the best, and for ALL of us 'levergun' types to take good care of ourselves and loved ones. Keep in touch with decent doctors; they can't fix everything, but can help many things if you let them. (...or at least, we take the credit for what God uses us to accomplish...

Knee mail sent. I leave for a while and come back to hear this. Sometimes you take for granted someone is always going to be there. Silly I know. Like a lot of other influential people, what I know about leverguns, I learned through his writings. As someone else posted, I hope it is something that docs can fix relatively easily like a pacemaker. If it is a pacemaker I hope they put it in the non shooting side of his chest. Better yet I hope it was like choking on a pretzel (vasovagal reaction), something that scares you, but you can laugh about later.

UPDATE:

Hi it's Rico,

My last message was a bit rushed, I was at the hospital at the time.

Dad is stable and is in the I.C.U. They tried to chemically regulate his heart rate but to no avail. They decided to install a temporary pacemaker which did the trick. They are going to do another E.K.G. in the morning to see if he will need a permanent pacemaker.

Here is what happened;

At 1500hrs (3:00pm) I had just arrived at the house and dad was resting. He complained of dizziness and of being tired. He got up and walked into the kitchen. I noticed that he was unstable so I kept an eye on him as he walked back. As he walked to the bedroom he became more unstable. I got up just in case he needed help, just then he began to fall out. I caught him and laid him on the floor. I checked his blood pressure, it was very low as well as his heart rate. He would slip in and out of conciseness at that point I called 911. I was able to keep him awake and talking.

The E.R. Doctor said that it was not a heart attack. Most likely it was his medication. We will have more information in the morning. I will keep you posted.
