At this time there are no set triggers available for the '85 Browning, but MVA is rumored to be considering producing one.

I'm not sure if they fit or not but Ballard is making set triggers for their '85. I was looking at an original '85 a few years back that did not have a set trigger and was told that you could purchase the set unit from Ballard. The deal fell through for me so I never followed up with Ballard but its worth a call. Here is the Ballard web site.

I E-Mailed MVA 6 mos. ago and they told me the S.S.t. was still in the design stage, but said they would notify when production started. I understand that
Lee Shaver can get the 1885 trigger down to 2# for about $45. you only have to send him the trigger group. I met a man last week with an older Uberti1885 with a 1 1/2 oz. single set that Shaver did for him.I guess the Browning and Winc. are more complicated.

Yep, the Browning and Winchester are "Lawyered", the Uberti is to the original design.

You an also modify the trigger to add a adjustment screw to take care of sear adjustment. There's a guy on the ASSRA forum who has come up with a quick, easy way to do this, and I hear it works well.
Whatever you do don't take that trigger assembly apart on the 1885! They are nothing like the original Winchesters, and even advanced gunsmiths go crazy trying to reassemble them!

marlinman93, I've had at least 7 of these completely apart and even changed the sear angle on all the triggers to 1.75 to 2 lbs and they break like a glass rod, but still on the lookout for ss assembly... the action is very simple when you have the slave pins to disamble and reassemble..

also limitimg the sear engagement is looking for an ad, prefer to keep it the same, thankx anyway, I've seen this type of fix on old military rifles and its very chancy at best..
