Cablelas Shopping Report

Post by crs »

On the way to Syracuse meats to pick up the Blackbuck summer sausage, Colin and I stopped at the Ft Worth Cabelas to eat lunch and browse a bit. I picked up some case lube and he found a good rifle case for his new Remington VTR. Strangely, many rifle cases had no labels or prices on them? :?: They had no primers and a fair supply of powders. There was an entire end cap dedicated to PMC .223 ammo at what seemed to be a good price, but since I do not have a .223 and Colin has already bought bulk PMC for plinking, we passed that up.

The Gun Library was fun, with a wide selection - many of which were marked down. I overheard one employee explaining that the high-end guns were moving a bit slow of late. There were several folks shopping the Gun Library and the used gun racks and a few looking at new guns.

The only gun price that I remember is that they have two Miroku/Winchester 1895 Teddy Roosevelt .405 rifles in stock at $1699 each. So, if you hurry on over, you may still be able to pick one up. :)

PS We did get the sausage and make it back OK.

I was there at lunch time too. I bought a Henry Rifle for the kids and a bunch of reloading stuff for myself. Ate the elk sandwich . I must have just missed you!

Yep - we were there during the noon hour too and I almost ordered the elk sandwitch, but went with the tuna salad and fries (yummy). Colin had the bison burger. :)

I usually get the Bison burger --- not a big fan of the cold sandwiches. Cabela's ------- not just a store, its an adventure

I saw a few nice SAA's listed online though as being in Ft Worth. Long link --- but i thought i saw a 44 Spl New Frontier for a grand

I am 180 miles away , but try to make it there every other month or so

I've never been to a Cabela's, never had one close to me. Someday...
