Pet Load B92 357

Post by Floyd »

I've determined that my B92 has about a 1 in 20" twist. So far it doesn't seem to like H110 powder and 180gr xtp's. Can anyone recommend a load that works for them (assuming their gun has a similar rifling twist)? I'm going out to the range tomorrow and will try to 158 gr xtps with H110.

Thanks.

I'd say drop the H110.

IMO it is great in any rimmed handgun cartridge that begins with a 4, but highly variable for anything that begins with a 3. And it's worse with lighter weights.

Try LilGun. Start at 14.5 and go up to about 16gr with a 180.

You won't be sorry.

I was out at the range today and it was a bit of a wash. I could get about 2 to 3 inch groups at 50 yards with both loads. I'll have to go out and shoot more, which is fine by me. The H110 loads are shooting much better than I had originally thought. I did polish the bore when I got the gun back from Stevez.guns. The action is so much smoother now.

I did quite a bit of work with a .357 B-92 using 180gr and 200gr Cast Perf. hard cast bullets. I posted my results in the late winter, early spring. I do not know how to retrieve the post. Maybe someone more learned than I will know. I will check my reloading notes. 1886.

Same loads? You know what that means? You got better eye's than me. :) I do thing I would try some different powders. I've used Win 296 under a 158 Hornady XTPFP with good results But I've never loaded any 180's.

I've had good luck with AA#9 and 180 gr, CP or Beartooth WFNGC bullets. Don't have access to reloading notes for exact charge weight. Oh, this WAS from a B92.

Yes the same exact loads, like I said I polished the bore with JB bore bright. There is no way I shoot better than you, it isn't possible, I was shooting off of a rest with sandbags. I'm sure you out shoot me 100 to 1. The 158 gr bullets shoot way high with the sights you put on it and it can't be corrected so 180's are the way to go.

I have ordered some bearcat 185 FNGC but who knows when that will ship? Perhaps when I can buy primers locally again. I'll try the powders I have which are H110 and lil gun for now. It's always fun to try something new.
