Gay.

Sticking all that stuff to them ruins the handling characteristics, and the porting will totally hose your night vision. I guess they're just fine for the kids playing video games, who want a toy. Just as bad as all those singleshots you see at the gunshows with M-4 stocks, sidesaddles, bipods, bayonets, lights, and lasers. -I spoke with a dealer when they first appeared, and he said they were selling as fast as they could put 'em together!

FWIW, I think a SxS with an under-barrel rail-mounted laser and rail-mounted 6 shell tactical strip would be just about the perfect home defense/anti-zombie gun - especially in locales that have "issues" with pumps or semi autos (Oz)

Again... think DOOM II...

But putting an ACOG or Holosight on top of it is just dumb... especially since the thing is ported.

It depends on what you expect to encounter - in my case, I'm about 10:000 to 1 likelier to encounter a possum or raccoon in the chicken house, or a coyote in the goat pen, than a crazed thug. So I like things like lights and lasers and stuff. The "tactical" gun most suited to me would have a light so I can see the critter, a laser so I could just 'dot' it vs. have to find iron sights in the dark, or see crosshairs, and only needs enough 'firepower' to nail a scuttling predator or two without blasting a hole in the water trough!

Now if I really thought I were going to meet a human type bad guy face to face, I'd have a whole different perspective, because they might see my pretty little lights and take a notion to shoot at them. The chicken-killing raccoons just look up at them and keep chewing.

I DO think it is hilarious how everything gets labeled "tactical" - I don't think there's a named part on a gun I haven't seen somewhere advertized as "complete with tactical _____"

That's why you use "instant on" switches.

you don't leave your light/laser on for more than the fraction of a second needed to positively ID the threat & aquire target lock.

Yep. Which is why you don't light them up until you are ready to identify the target & pull the trigger.

The mount on the bottom of the barrel is interesting, but that porting totally turns me off. I wouldn't own a ported gun no way no how.

+1 I think it is a neat little gun, sans the porting. I've honestly thought of making a wood mounting block that mounts under the barrels of my Stevens 311 with something like one of the old strap boot blouser to hold it on. Only thing is getting the double loaded under duress.....might turn into a club really quick. With small kids a loaded, accessible double becomes problematic.

I like it if for no other reason that its simple in design and has just about all you would need for out in the country keeping yotes away from the chickens or such.

While I have two Stoeger doubles... plus a couple of others... they'd most likely be the LAST choice I'd grab outta the safe is I needed a self-defense gun. Two shots would hopefully be ALL I'd need... but wouldn't be all that I'd want available. Don't care HOW FAST I can reload!
