Question about 3:10 to Yuma for you western movie buffs

Post by Streetstar »

Question about this movie (the new version - '07)

Did the Russell Crowe character have matching SAA's ? or did he just carry one? --- referring to his "Hand of God" revolver

Found this website, but it is not clear, but is a neat site anyway. Maybe i will just watch the darn thing again to see

You guys are absolutely right --- in the interim that i wasn't posting today, i snuggled up on the couch with my dog (strictly platonic) and watched it again !! That Christian Bale may be an intolerable jerk in real life (lots of talented people are), but he can sure pick movies to play in ! What else can you say about Russell Crowe --- guy also owns some sort of real ranch in Aussie land too from what i hear.

Gun used was a USFA with Outlaw Custom grips -- replicas of the grip are a whopping $450 ! (Maybe next time, i'll settle for mammoth ivory if i have that kind of green candy to throw around)

The lastest GOTOW issue ( Guns Of The Old West ), devoted the cover and a large inside article on "The Guns Of 3:10 To Yuma".

Plenty of word and pic coverage of the details.

Ain't that the truth !

It seems every time I go inta one of those huge chain bookstores, I end up spending $50-60 on gun related books & magazines.
They're getting to be as bad as a gunshop, that way ! ;)

I just saw the cover of the latest GOW magazine, the 3:10 issue. I notice on the cover when they list the guns, they have 'S&W Schofield 44-40'. That is incorrect. The Schofields were chambered in 45 Schofield. Later, the S&W New Model #3 Frontier was chambered in 44-40. I hope they corrected that in the article, that is a serious mistake. Having said that, it is possible that the modern reproduction they used in the movie was actually chambered for the 44-40. The modern repro's don't always stay true to the original calibers.
Kirk: An old geezer who loves the smell of freshly turned earth, old cedar rail fences, wood smoke, a crackling fireplace on a snowy evening, pristine wilderness lakes, the scent of
cedars and a magnificent Whitetail buck framed in the semi-buckhorn sights of a 120-year old Winchester.
