My wife and I were informed yesterday evening that we will be closing on the sale of her house up here in Sudbury, Ontario on August 21. With the housing market in the toilet these past few months we were unsure if we'd find a buyer. We had to drop down from our original asking price of $205,000CDN to $172,000CDN. Fortunately we will still turn a decent profit to help pay off her car and a few other bills so that when she comes to the US she and I will be 100% debt free.
Are you sure you want to give up Ontario for this sorry state.? Moose, caribou, bear, salmon,....I've haven't seen those running around Okahoma.

It was snowing and spitting sleet this morning up here. I've lived in OK since 1980 and will take heat over cold any day. I've got five acres of land near Antlers, Oklahoma which is the self proclaimed "Deer Capital" of the world.
Fortunately for Bambi I'm not a hunter as I've got a deer trail running across my land.

Oh man, I'm the opposite. I'd take sleet and rain any day instead of these blasted summers, I hate em. If I didn't have to go outside to go to work, I probably would stay indoors from June to September....
Do you know anything about the Little River National Wildlife Refuge down your way. It's supposed to be between Idabel and Broken Bow. We put in for the controlled deer hunts this year, we've never hunted down in that part of the country so we thought what the heck.

Can't say I know much about it other than what I found out doing a quick Google search. Sounds like a good place to hunt for deer. I know that come October my neck of the woods is crowded with orange.
My land is up in the Kiamichi Wilderness area north of Antlers up off of Hwy 2 just past Moyers. I'm thinking that once my wife and I get our cabin built up there I'm going to build a couple of smaller retreat cabins to rent out to hunters during the fall and perhaps couples during the summer for romantic getaways for some supplemental income.
