45 Colt---Opinions---Brass??

Does anyone have any experience with StarLine brass in the 45 Colt?? I have never used any StarLine brass. How does it stack up against Winchester brass??

I was wanting a 44 magnum in a Low Wall, but I have not been able to find any 44 magnum's, but I have found several in 45 Colt. However I have never loaded 45 Colt before, and was just looking for general comments. Thanks, Tom.

I feel Starline is a little more brittle than W-W. Thicker, a tad less case capacity. I love it for my smokeless rounds, but with BP it doesn't seem to expand as much and I get a lot more blowback in the rifle.

I use a lot of 45 Colt Starline brass and I have the exact experiences as Griff.

How much do you need? I've got unfired Starline, and twice-fired Winchester, PMC, R-P. Factory CAS loads, reloaded once with 6gr Titegroup & 250gr LRNFP

Starline works just fine for me. If anyone has any .45 Colt brass they wanna get rid of, let me know. If anyone wants to buy bullets, I have some for sale or trade.

45 Colt is pretty forgiving unless you're loading Ruger power level loads. I've always used winchester and not had any problems with it. I use star-line though too for other calibers and it's top notch stuff. All smokeless. My most used load is 7 grains of W231 under a lasercast 250 rnfp - 800 fps.

Starline is good brass. Not head over heals better like Lapua is to Winchester but GOOD brass.
I find it as good as or better than Rem. or Win. in .45 Colt cal.

I like Starline better than Win or Rem.
It seems to have more consistent neck tension, which affects accuracy in my guns.
I load the 45 with Unique under a cast bullet.
Perhaps a heavier load or a faster powder would reduce the effect of neck tension a bit.
Never tried it though...

Starline is good brass. Apparently they have some on hand.

I use it and I get a little blow back with the 7.8 grs. of Unique under a 250 grn RNFP cast bullet, but that's because it's a pretty low power load and it's not sealing in the cylinder. I find they're a quality product.

I use mostly Starline brass now because of age on the other makes. I see no problems using Starline for My Colt SAA.45 or the Rossi 92 .45, it works OK for me.

Starline is virtually indestructible. It is a little thicker than some, but it's alloyed to be very tough. I've run some at tip top "Ruger only" pressures, and never managed to hurt it. No loose primer pockets, etc.

Appropos of nothing, Starline is owned by the same family as Sierra bullets, and located next door.

I use 'em all. Starline is a bit thicker than the others and doesn't expand with light loads.
For the occasional light load to standard I'll use anything but Starline. For standard and up I'll use Starline.

For black powder loads, forget the starline, use Remington or something else.

I use it for my Ruger only loads it is great stuff. I have well over 40 reloads on the ones I have and they are holding up fine.
I use my Winchester stuff for standard pressure loads.

Makes it easy to tell what is what Hot = Starline Normal= Win.

I'm just starting on the .45 Colt trail, bought a Thunderer 3 1/2", Remington brass just got here from Cabelas and dies are on the way. The Rem brass seems stout to me, I use Starline for .45 auto and never had a problem. They are nice folks to deal with too.
