Gun porn.

Post by Leverdude »

I picked up a gun from my FFL guy the other day.
Got the gun from a forumite & was once again super pleased with how everything went. Pretty great bunch of guys I'v found in this & a couple other forums.

Anyway my camera crapped out on me but I found an old one in the kitchen & took some gun pictures.

1965 336 44 mag I just got.

Top to bottom, 1894c 357, 1894 44mag, 1889 44/40, 1889 32/20 and the odd one out my Rossi 357.

The next two. a 1894 25/20 & another 1889 38/40.

I didn't know the Guide Gun was produced with a 22" barrel?

It wasn't.
I bought it on a whim, I had the money & saw the gun, just had to have it.
Never liked the ports & a short barrel didn't matter, I liked the straight grip tho so kept it. Stumbled on a 22" barrel back when E-bay wasn't quite as communist as they are now & had them swapped out. Far as I'm concerened its about perfect now. 8)

Wow, Thanks for the pics leverdude! Did you just get lucky and find rifles with beautiful wood on them or did You change the stocks out yourself?
Either way That is a really nice collection you have there.

The 308MX came with nice wood & the piece I'm fitting to the 336 is a factory Marlin piece of wood with nice figure.
The 1893 I got from precision & fitted/finished it myself. The Rossi I had a friend from another forum duplicate the factory piece & fit it to the gun & then I finished it.
I like doing it but it takes me a long time.

That 336 is the first one I personalised & its still not done.
I thought it was done when I got it rebarreled, thought it was done once the metal was refinished, thought it was done when I replaced the wood the first time. I think it'll be done for good once that wood is done. Hope so anyway.

Very nice rifles. I like what you did with the Guide Gun and the wood on the Rossi is very very nice. The pistol is nice too but just think -- for whatever you spent on the pistol, you could have bought another rifle or two. Thanks for the photos.

Nah, its used & I got it at a good price. Besides, much as I love a nice levergun, I just cant walk around with one in my waistband. Dont think I have one that holds 16 rounds either.
