Got my new moulds this weekend!

Post by Guncase »

One is a new LBT .359 180 grain flatnose that I plan to use in my Blackhawk and Marlin .35 Rem. The other is a vintage Ideal 170 grain roundnose for the 30-30. I cast a batch but they turned out UGLY. I had to turn up the temp on my pot to fill out the long 30-30 bullet, and that seemed to loosen up all the Marvelux residue in my pot. Won't use that nasty stuff again. I emptied the pot, so now I'll have to spend some time cleaning it up. I think I'll stick with beeswax for fluxing. I've been using it for a while now, and I like it much better, you get some smoke but no mess.

Nice molds. I like the looks of that 359 LBT mold.

Try using saw dust for flux, smokes only for a little while but also smells like a campfire.

YOu sill like that 311291! It one of the very best 30 caliber molds ever designed and produced. It has been a top 30-30 bullet since 1905 and works well in most other 30 caliber rifles as well.
