1964 made model 94

Post by brucew44guns »

A friend called and asked about a 94 Win he owns in 30-30. Made in 1964, and he says it is nickle plated, barrel and all. Serial number is 2797428. He says the forearm is not the usual forearm, it is fat on the upper side, and the bottom is Vee shaped. The butt stock and forend are both checkered, and butt stock has a cheek piece too. What is this? All I know is what he's said, but I could not find anything like that on the Broker. Seems like some customized gun or special order?

I would say that is a customized gun.

I agree with Griff. Sounds like a custom job to me, unless it's one of those very limited commemoratives marketed strictly overseas. Most likely custom though.

Thanks for your input and 2 bits worth. My buddy has told me about the "Commemorative" rifle he bought a few years ago several times, but I don't go to his house so I never have seen it. Now all of a sudden he needs info as to what it is. No markings on it at all designating what it commemorates. Maybe some gunsmith/woodworker got busy and created a 1 in a million, who knows.?
