Finally, snow has come and the entire world here is white. -3 centigrades.

On saturday morning I will go to the forest and track roe deer. If enough snow has come, I'll stalk by skiing. :)

25 degrees, 10" of snow Saturday, and 1/2" of freezing rain on top.

"We had the coldest night of the season last night. Got down to 13.1 F. No snow to speak of so far."

Gosh I love this forum.

Not ....it's below freezing, it's 13.1 F .

Not ......it's pretty darn cold , it's 13.1 F .

Not .....it's about 10 to 15 degrees, it's 13 POINT 1 degrees F .

13 POINT 1 ??
13 POINT 1 ??

What kind of thermometer do you have anyway ? :D :D

Washington got blitzed this week. A couple days ago, Spokane got about 2 feet of snow with the cold to go along with it. Here in Western WA, it snowed about 8" last night, followed up with a freezing rain, so there is not much traffic moving today around here. Temps are in the low 30's. I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass is closed due to high winds and snow. Can't go anywhere, but it is really pretty.

My 14 year old and I cut firewood today. Temps here in central IN are alternating between teens and twenties and going to get colder. (This is due to GLOBAL WARMING, which the un-educated Republicans and Libertarians don't realize means that temperatures will CHANGE - you see the more temperatures, rain fall, or anything else CHANGE, this means there is actually GLOBAL WARMING going on - even if the temperature sinks to thirty degrees below zero, this is evidence that Al Gore is right, and that there is "climate change" which IS because of "global warming" which IS because we elect Republicans. Simple, basic science; anyone can understand it. Record cold temperatures are CAUSED by "climate change" whcich is due to "global warming.")

We heat with wood, so gotta get the wood cut.

After we fed the livestock, watered the troughs, and retrieved a dead chicken (we lose a couple a month in the winter - usually the older ones), we decided to 'reward' ourselves with some shooting fun.

Since my old .444 was sad and depressed (I hear the sobbing in the gun safe at night) that I bought a new XLR (with crooked sights so I have to send it back), we decided to let it blast a couple of water jugs. After all, Indiana allows 'rifles' for deer, but not ones like the .444, so despite it's 'big game' potential, it is relegated to coyotes, raccoons, and target shooting, until we save up for an elk hunt out west.

Shortly after shooting the jugs, the water had turned to ice, so it is pretty durn cold.

And . . . we both just LOVE the .444 Marlin...!

minus 6 F here with 30 MPH winds, gusting up to 40. It is blowing and drifting the 2 inches of new snow we got overnight that fell on top of the 7 inches already on the ground. The sun was out for a few minutes today, but it clouded over before I got a chance to get outside to tan.

Have friends West of Quesnel B C. Been hovering around -40 up in that neck of the woods, to cold for an Aussie, anything lower then 20 Celsius is much to cold for us.

As of this post I'm sitting at the Fifth Wheel Truckstop in Milton, Ontario (Great White North) and the thermometer on my Kenworth is indicating 5°F with winds strong enough to be rocking my rig. At this time last week I was in Nogales, Arizona where the temps were in the 70's.

Been 5 below to 18 below (F) for most of the last couple weeks or so. Had a warm spell for a day or so, warmed up to the upper 20's (F).

I'm mildly envious, Nath.

I just spent the better part of 3 hours clearing snow. We got about a foot-and-a-half.
It warmed up, too. Now it's 20 F!

I saw five does the other day over a the neighbor's. The deer herd is WAY down this here,
partly from poaching , and partly from last year's horrendous winter. The squirrels are
buried under the snow, but there are showshoe hare tracks about. And lots of birds at
the feeder.

We have south south westerlys blowing warm air up to us at the moment but just after Christmas it turns and comes in from the north and east.
For us it should not get below -7c.

I spent two hours digging out, then spent the rest of the day running all the neighbors to the grocery store, and finally running groceries to my daughter, and then digging her walk out too!
We now have 2 ft. of snow on the falts and drifted twice that! High of 30 degrees, which is way up from the low 20's we've had, but still no flights out! We're going to try again tomorrow to see if we can get on a flight to sunny S. Ca!

Well, it was a bit rainy today, so I knocked off early. Too many speeders on the freeways when it rains. Besides, the rain might dampen my doo.

Warming up right now, but about 5 below last nite after it got done dumping snow for the second time in two days. The guy plows my driveway these days more often than I drive up and down it. This is the global warming that Al the media whore Gore promised us. Already his hippie disciples are whining about air pollution from wood smoke coming out of chimneys. Point Fermin Lighthouse. San Pedro, Ca. I enjoy photographing lighthouses. This one is not only one of my favorites, it's probably the most accessable. It's open for interor tours.
