Guys- is Marlin the only company that makes a 20 inch barrel .30-30 levergun anymore? If that is the case, I guess that makes the 336C the cadillac of woods rifles?

I just wish Marlin would make some straight grip .30-30s again. My wife has an old RC with that pretty uncheckered walnut and straight grip- what a handy, good looking carbine....

Slightly off tune but a friend of mine once saw at a small double rifle at a show and he remembers it was very light-like a 410 only it was in 30/30 and he often says he wishes he had bought it. Sure glad I not see it

Some fantastic small bolt actions and break actions could be made in this wonderfull efficient cartridge. There is the Savage 24

A Savage 340C with the short barrel are quite accurate. But my Savage 99 straight stocked trapper has seen a lot of use!

I wish Savage would bring back the 340 30-30 with a 12 twist and Ballard rifling. You talk about a cast bullet rifle!

I wish I could find one of those nice little Savage Model 219 break-open single shot .30-30 rifles. They were a lot sleeker than the Handi's - although an old .30-30 H&R Topper's no slouch.

I also ran across a Mossberg 472 levergun - which many mistake for a Marlin.

My first rifle was a 340C and, except for the trigge, it was great. Wish I still had it. We get them at the shop fairly regularly.

I also havetwo of the 219's. The one has accounted for quite a few deer over the years. The description given was right on the money.

The Savage 219 was a great gun. Wish I had not sold mine.

I think that a Ruger #3 in 30-30 would be the ultimate.

The prices on used 30-30 are going down.If you want a good one with out the safetys get aWinchester XTR.94.I really like my 1979
xtr big bore 375 Winchesters .The finish and wood is awesome.I have a 1973 30-30 that the finish sucked and the would finish was horrible.I think the 1978-1980 winchesters are some of the best post model 94s after
that they kinda went down hill.I bought 4 model 94 from the last batch made the wood fit was horrible.You could almost pull the stocks off.

If you look really hard you can find a Remington 788 in 30-30. I've seen 2 and both were excellent examples, should have bought one of them. They also made them in 44 magnum.
