Camp Carbine

Post by mescalero1 »

Guys,
There is one of these on gunbroker right now.
I have one and they are neat little carbines.
If you have elderly parents , or a petite wife, young son / daughter,
you should consider getting it.
They shoot .45 ACP, from Colt mags, low recoil, fast follow up, the bullet has some authority to it, readily available.
I like mine, will never sell it, that one will stay with me to the last.
I don't see them too often , I guess the owners like to hang on to them

I bought one of these on Gunbroker a while back for my 1911 lower, they make them for Glocks also.
Shoots great. :D

the bullet has "some authority"? :) I'd say so! ;)

That's a great defensive set-up. I don't know what the price is, but yes, these are good carbines - and you can get the 10 round 1911 mags pretty cheap.

Like the man said, a very good choice.

Be sure to buy some extra recoil buffers - they tend to get brittle with age and shatter.

Something like that would be the only EBR that I could afford. I do like the little pistol carbines.

They are pretty good for their intended purpose. I had one in a 9mm a long time ago and the only bad thing about it that I recall was the horrible trigger.

The 9mm Camp carbine has become my main bad times weapon. I have 2 of them. They use my Springfield XD mags that hold 16 rounds each. They are backed up by 2 9mm XDs. They are accurate out to 100 yards with ball or HP ammo. Have very low recoil and decent sights.

If I have to shoot further then 100 yard then I have several other options.

I also have 1 in .45acp. Fun to shoot but doesn't match any pistols I have. I have bought extra buffers for them although all of mine are still in good shape, the original buffers.

Fun carbines and I sure wish Marlin still made them.

If a Camp Carbine in .45 had come available to me first I'd probably have taken it. It turned out that a Ruger PC-4 was available for a decent price first so that's the one I bought. Too heavy for me, and mags aren't easy to find (other than 10-rounders) but my wife absolutely loves it.
