Well, since I have a .45 colt Puma and Uberti I guess that is where I cast my vote. Fun to plink with, can be loaded heavy if need be, will take anything within 100 yards which is as far as I want to be from something I want to take. But, if you were really making me chose one rifle I might have to chose a .22 for the lower cost and keep the .45 colt Bisley for the big stuff.

I'm surprised none of the die-hard 30wfc'ers challenged you on that. After all, everyone knows it has a rainbow trajectory and isn't any good past 75 yardsMarlin .35 wrote:35 Remington...more ooomph that the 30-30

+1 for the 35 Rem. A very underrated cartridge. I think my third choice would my 336 SC in 35 Rem.

If you're asking me to hand over all of 'em except one to keep for all uses, I'd have to go with my 1894FG .41 mag.
I take some things into consideration here; first, while it may not have the trajectory of the .30-30, it has nearly the power. Second, it's fast, easy and cheap to reload for. Third, it's partnered up with my Blackhawk, and shooting one caliber simplifies things. Fourth, as handy as my 94 Winchesters are (and they certainly are), the Marlin 1894 shoulders and fits just a little better. Very fast on target for me. I guess the same arguments apply to the .44 mag.
As hard as it would be to give up my .30-30's, it would hurt even more to lose my .38-55.
Wait a second, with all this firepower, how is it I'm letting anybody take anything?
