Bow season started here in Connecticut but it is so hot and humid I will wait for the weather to turn later this week.

Nice looking broadheads Jerry. They remind me of the Ben Pearsons I had years ago. I use Magnus myself. When I was a frequent reader on the leatherwall the guy that owned the company used to post there. He always had a standing offer that he would exchange any Magnus broadhead that failed in any way, even if you hit a concrete block with it. Everything he bought back went to engineering to be studied for flaws and weakness.

Rusty I am not sure what these are but they are old. The arrows have good fletching and are fiberglass, it reads, "Quality Fiberglass G".There about eight or nine of them but seven have real good fletching. The steel is hard, a new file will cut with some pressure.

Man, fiberglass would be great! Heavy enough for good penetration, not noisy out of a longbow and the fiberglass won't break, so it will hang in there and do damage as the deer runs.

Good luck to you JerryB! I don't know how things are in your area but around here we have a bumper crop of deer this year.

Agree with Rusty, those look like Ben Pearson broadheads. Those fiberglass shafts being heavy, will be a bit slower than the modern aluminum shafts, but they do penetrate very well. I used them back in my bow hunting days with Browning and Wing recurve bows.

Congrats on the doe Tag! I got lucky and drew one this year too. Also The AGFC has opened up the Christmas hunt for does this year. Hopefully the freezer will be full this year.

Back in the early 80s I used the old Fred Bear Razorheads but without the razor inserts. Arrow choice was either wood, aluminum, or fiberglass. I favored the fiberglass but they were difficult to find in McCall, Idaho population 2000 so used the cheap wood shafts.
I'm sure the modern carbon graphite arrows are better but wish I could still find fiberglass arrows, wish they caught on. I use aluminum now but hate when they get bent.

Jerry,
Those are called Deadheads. They are a little collectible to those who mess with stuff like that. Not to collectible to keep you from hunting with them though. I can tell you that they work great on turkeys, but I never shot a deer or hog with one.

I've got one of those I found stuck in a tree in PA. Always wondered what it was.GANJIRO wrote:Back in the early 80s I used the old Fred Bear Razorheads but without the razor inserts. I thought I would go ahead and post the rest of the old ones here plus the one on the right is a bone arrowhead that I made.
Reckon I did something wrong this time.

Those are some nice looking, traditional broadheads Jerry! Do you use a long bow, or compound? Those also look like they carry pretty good weight, and should really penetrate well!-Vall

Re: OT Broadheads for October
Vall thanks, I have a couple of old recurves and an osage longbow that I made a few years ago. The deadheads are a little to heavy for my osage but they do shoot good in the recurves.
