OT- kinda
I looked at a Henry .17 HMR today. Anyone have good or bad to say about .17 HMR or Henry? It was a pretty rifle. There was also a Winchester .22 mag 9422 for $425. I should probably get this as they usually go for about a buck higher on Gunbroker. What say you on the .17hmr or would you go for ther .22 mag? It is going to be used for Prairie Dogs. Gracias mi amigos

Cautiously, as not to provoke the Henry-ites among us, I would say go with the 9422M. You are kinda talking about a large power difference between the .17 and the .22Mag.

CrawdaddyJim has a Henry 17 and used Hornady ammo....
A few of the bullets backed into the case....not good....
but the Henry shot great...17 ammo is pricy too!
I prefer the winny in 22 mag....

9422's are selling in the $650+ range, in excellent condition, here in New England - I'd jump on that in a New York Minute, as much as I like my recently acquired Henry .22, which I've now peeped.
