OT -The kid called today-found us gone - left voice message
He granulates tomorrow from the San Diego School For Boys otherwise known as USMC boot camp. Got two calls, one to ask us to notify his aunt that he'll be arriving dark and early Sat morn so they can go pick him up and then a second one to tell us he contacted her and that he's near bursting to find out we DID manage to pick up a RT ticket for him to a city near by where we'll be taking delivery of one newly inaugurated US Marine to be given up one week later so he can head back for further schooling. Sure wish I could be there tomorrow, I'll just have to wait for pics - surely SOMEONE will be taking pics and hopefully making them available to those of us who can't swing the airfare. Anyway, I know y'all are aware of his pending graduation so figured I'd let you know. We'll be sure to post some pics when able - can't wait for the stories I know he'll tell once he gets here, he sure can keep us in stitches and with his "this is TOO easy" attitude I'm sure we'll be hearing about those for whom it was a purgatory... not to mention the imps in charge...

Sure hope he gets to "graduate" as well. I know the Marines are tough, but I didn't know they granulated their cadets!!!

Well, Ysabel, if you think about it "granulate" makes a lot of sense. He's undergone the heat of training and now is crystallizing into a US Marine - granulation.
Yeah, I'm weird - but at least my wife loves me this way...

The kid's the second from the right on the fourth row from the top - the good looking one. He got his looks from his old man, 'cause his mom's still got all hers...
Looks like I'm going to have to shell out the $$$ for the graduation video. It'll be worth it though, I'm sure. It says "shipping included" I wonder if that includes shipping to just north of the equator...

Get the video, it is worth it. It should have both the pinning ceremony and the graduation on it. Just so happens that the camera caught my wife jumping in to our son's arms after the pinning ceremony....quite touching!

I'm lucking living only a few hours north of San Diego. Watched both boys graduations. I, also reccomend getting a video. To see all those young people standing proud at what they have accomplished will bring warmth to your heart.
