I was cleaning up a large downed tree branch in my missing neighbor's yard with the little chainsaw and though while I was at it to pull most of the tumbleweeds (Russian thistle) that were trying to take over the place. I had gloves on, but a sleeveless tee-shirt as it's plenty warm in this section. It was after I emptied the truck bed at our transfer station that I noticed little red dots all over my arms. They weren't a nuisance at first, but then the fire started. When I got home that I took a shower and applied hydrocortisone cream, which is usually the bomb. Not so much n this case. The rash reminded me of those nasty rashes we got as kids up on the Puget Sound running around the woods where stinging nettles lay in wait.
Anyway, Bill's hard-earned lesson of the day is when wrestling with the invasive tumbleweed, wear a long sleeved-shirt unless you know you will not develop contact dermatitis.
