I actually did this in real life ,a while back now. Company I was working for transferred me a thousand miles away. Kept my house and most of my stuff where I’d been at, got an apartment in the new location. Got transferred back after 18 months.

Here’s what I ended up with in the apartment, some of it brought from home, some acquired on site.

WASR AK-47 7.62X39
Ruger 10/22 .22 LR

H&R Topper 16 ga

Springfield 1911 .45 ACP
Sig P220 .45 ACP
Argie Hi-Power 9MM
Colt Detective Special .38 Special
Beretta 87 .22 LR

That adds up to more than five because this was real life, not an intellectual exercise.

That was far enough in the past that AK’s were cool and most civilian AR’s were junk. Nowadays I’d substitute a 5.56 AR and I’d add a 12 gauge 870. I might make some fine adjustments to the handgun battery, but I wouldn’t be too upset if I just had to stand pat.

Great thread! Thanks L.M.
These would my favorite survival types. Bet you can't figure out my favorite brand. Too bad they don't make revolvers.
1. Pre war Win 94 30-30.
2. Win Model 12 20 gauge. I would prefer 16, but the ammo is harder to come by.
3. Ruger NM Blackhawk 4 5/8" .45 Convertible.
4. Win 94-22 .22lr.
5. Pre 64 Win Model 70 in .308 or 06.

Honorable mentions are a Miroku 1892 in 357, a LeFever E grade 12 ga Damascus, a High Standard Citation/ Trophy .22, and Ruger SP 101 in .327.
