Friend with Marfan syndrome

Post by mickbr »

Id never heard of it.A fella who moved onto my street a while back and I got talking on a range of subjects. He told me he is left wing straight up, but after about 10 min of him saying he has done shooting, hunting, is a decent game butcher, feels the 'tech bros', who I think to mean the zuckerbergs of the world are ruining it for everyone- I corrected him and said you arent left or right anything as far as Im concerned, Id say you are just an individual in gods eyes like the rest of us. Then he mentions at 40 his lifespan is under threat from the above. A not well healed aortic aneursym surgery, constant pericarditis and massive doses of prednizone(?) are bringing him to his knees. You think you arent doing too well then you meet a fella dealing with that since he was a kid. I said I'll get him out shooting again, not much else I can offer.

IMO, friendship is one of the most generous things we can offer.

Good for you, Mick. Marfan is a miserable struggle for those cursed with it. A friend lost her son to it when he was in his twenties.
