Well I thought it was just my computer or internet! There have been days here and there where it hasn't worked at all. But at the same time two other gun forums I visit had similar issues. They came back before this forum did though.

If you email Andy at Skinner Sites when you notice leverguns is down he can hopefully get us back on track faster.

That being said, this morning I couldn't get on here again so I emailed Andy and POOF we are back! ( no applause please)

Fri 2/27, Sat 2/28, and today 3/1 system timed out and would not load. Tried a few times on Sat and today. Page loaded, but slowly.

On 2/28 and today needed to log on twice. Checked the "remember me" each time I entered name and password. Supposedly, password was not correct. Finally was able to access page, but was very slow to load.

Well guys, you gotta figure that since the Iranians obviously want to shut down the whole U.S. in the process of killing all the infidels, they know where to start, and this humble website is probably the nucleus of the most fearsome resistance they would come up against if they trying to invade the U.S.. . . .

PS-My browser tells me it's blocking 23 trackers from this site too! Maybe that's part of what's making things so slow?

couldn't get on here again yesterday. Tried a few times during the day, but no luck. Sent Andy an email and he said he was out of the country and couldn't do much with a slow connection. Then today it came up quickly, but something must have reset as I had to login again as the site had logged me out? At least it's working......for now.

I had trouble with it all day, trying to use it. Very slow to load or not load at all. But I just tried it a few minutes ago and it now it works fine at the moment. I was going to as if anyone else was having problems, but I guess my question has been answered. But the site has been spotty for quiet a while now. Sometimes I can get on and sometimes for a few hours, I cannot.

For the last 7-10 days site has been slow to load before it times out or I receive a 503 error.

Hey Guys, working on figuring out what kind of bug keeps stalling the forum.

My apologies for the issue. I’m working with the host. We have upgraded the amount of storage exponentially, pay for a better plan, etc….

Soon as I know something I’ll post it here.

For me it's still slow to load and slow to respond. This forum is spotty at best and I'm loosing patience with the many interruptions and spotty service.

What I have taken to doing is to do a copy ctrl "C" of my response before hitting the submit button, that way if I get the dreaded "500 Error" or "this site in unavailable", I back arrow my browser & "refresh" until the dialog box returns and do a Ctrl "V" to paste my previous attempt and hit the submit button again. Works... most of the time.

I know there's another thread on here, about this, but I just got to ask, does anyone know what is going on with the site? The last several days, maybe longer, it's been really hit and miss as to when I can even get on here. And then sometimes it runs really slow if at all, once I do finally get it to open up. Then I will eventually catch it, where it works pretty good for a few minutes or maybe a few hours and then it goes right back to pretty much impossible for me to use.

How many people are having trouble with this? Is there an individual solution on my end or something? I mean, my computer is fine, I believe. I don't have any issues with other sites I go to.

Is the site doing ongoing upgrades or repairs, etc.? I am just trying to figure it out.

I just merged with the other thread to keep info together. It's not just you, not just US based or UK based participants either. Haven't heard details on what exactly is going on, but "it's not you".

I'm working on the page again now. Loading very quickly this AM.

Online Support is saying:

"Hmm strange, it runs quickly for me. Your vps's have been up for over 150 days. I'm going to do a quick reset, this will clear up any dead / stuck processes on the backend."

I'll also take a look at the BOT traffic.

Please hit the site and poke around to see if there is any one page or link that is slower than the others.

My apologies for the issues. We have added much more storage to the server, right now only using about 1/4 - 1/3 of available memory.

When I got on and tried opening a topic, it stalled and gave me the "500 error", but when I hit refresh, it opened right up. When I responded to a topic just now, it went fairly quickly. Thanks for all you do.

Another forum I frequent has had ongoing problems of a similar type, what ended up working was cloudflare verification. At one point someone mentioned that they checked traffic, and when it was not opening, there was 81,000 to over 200k bots or user hits trying to use the forum. After the cloudflare was set up again, it went to several hundred to a couple thousand, which was manageable for the system (I dont recall exact numbers but think those are close).

Theyve had the cloudflare off and on, then think they got it sorted out, then get attacked again. People get grumpy about it, but it does significantly cut the bot traffic and allow the forum to stay functional. Ive seen quite a few forums ior sites that are now using cloudflare to thin down the bots and stay operational.

Forum in question is pistol-forum.com. Dont know if that info adds anything useful, but it seems like similar problems with access. They may be able to answer questions.

The reality of the current internet is there are large numbers of AI developers using freely available info and sites on the net to train their systems, and it overloads many sites with all the bots hitting trying to get information, and some may be malicious bots.
