Re: Broke my stock!
What a load of BS... I had planned to buy a Ruger/Marlin as soon as they made it in .360 Buckhammer....as I have six JM Marlins now. After this I won't touch anything new in Ruger. I have worked in retail for more than 50 years and when I see this kind of treatment from a big company it makes Me sick . And how can they ship the gun back with a broken stock? I wouldn't give them a dime. We don't deserve to be treated like this.

Hard to be mad at them. This is the way of the world.
But I am disappointed. They are shipping it back and I will replace the stock with one by HS Precision.
I did write a pretty good letter to send to their lawyers.

Good thing they have a ser# look up feature on their web site, I’ll never buy another RUGER again without checking the # in the store.
Scott , did you send in the registry /warranty card , or online , when you bought it ?

I can't help but think what if this gun had been chambered in .375 Ruger and found it's way on a hunt to Alaska or Africa and then the stock let go.....?

It's not right to have to force a company to do the right thing, but in this case you need to. Keep the pressure on them

My rifle should be delivered today.
Let’s see how this goes. I’m disappointed about Ruger’s position but I’m glad that nobody got hurt when the stock broke.

I have a factory Remington installed HS Precision Kevlar stock on my Rem. 700VSF and love it. It has an aluminum bedding block built into the stock and is crazy accurate in all temperatures, and weather. I highly recommend them!Scott Tschirhart wrote: ↑Fri Feb 27, 2026 4:00 pm My rifle should be delivered today.

Re: Broke my stock!
I'm really surprised at Ruger for not coming through with a replacement.
95 inch pounds is a ridiculous torque spec.
I was given a post 64 model 70 308, I put it into a Hogue over mould stock and I'm quite happy with it.

I was thinking about that Hogue over molded stock as it has aluminum bedding blocks and I won’t break it by shooting it. It’s a little homely, but so am I.

For the money ya cant beat it!
My model 70 has been on the back burner, do I rebarrel it, change caliber, leave it alone. Its not a terrible shooter so it hasn't been a priority.
Not to mention I have a bunch of ammo!

Re: Broke my stock!
Sorry to hear that it's going this way for you, and for all Ruger owners. I remember not long ago, I had some issues and Ruger bent over backwards for me.
About 10 years ago. I had a Single Six that I bought used, and it started spitting lead after about a decade of use. So, I contacted Ruger and sent it in. They declined to fix it and replaced it with a new gun instead. I was a bit heartbroken as I loved that Single Six.
Heck, just 4 years ago they replaced a Super Blackhawk for me. It leaded badly, and I sent it in. They sent it back and it still leaded. So I sent it in again. This time they did some things to it, but they refinished it poorly. So I sent it back in, and they replaced it with a new gun. The fit and finish on that gun wasn't up to my standards so I sold it NIB.
I think the very first experience I had with their customer service was with a P95 I had bought used. It was having trouble dropping the magazine with the right side button. So I called them and talked to a gunsmith. He said it was likely the mag release and they sent me another with a note to call if I needed help to install it. When I got the new mag release, I called and the gunsmith walked me through removal of the old release over the phone. Easy enough if you knew the trick.
It's a dang shame that Ruger has went down hill so far. I've always been a big fan of Rugers.

Re: Broke my stock!
It’s possible that this is an isolated incident and not all of Ruger customer service is like this.
I’m still hopeful that we can reasonably resolve this.
