ANyone ever try this with a Glock (thumb behind slide)...?

I would think it would at least sprain the thumb a good bit.

The only thing I've done that was similar was I had my left hand thumb too close to a slide on a 1911 and it cut it slightly.

I have hitchikers thumb. My thumb would bend back 90° and nothing more would happen.

I have held the slide with my left hand and fired 45's and 9mms. That's all it does, just as in the video.

Had it demonstrated by our CCW course instructor, then we all got to try it with our guns. Can be useful (and devastating) if you are forced into a situation where your muzzle is in contact with your assailant. Keeps the gun in battery and allows it to fire. Of course, the gun doesn’t get to eject the spent case or reload, so you will have to rack the slide to reload. Something to file away in the back of your mind.

BTW, the instructor was a State Trooper and qualified by Federal and State agencies to train LEOs.

Now try that with a 1911. Or likely any external hammered semi auto of 9mm, 38 super, 40 S&W, 10mm or 45 acp. Pressing the thumb on the slide of a striker fired handgun doesn't give the slides mass an opportunity to gain momentum. You might find the very small amount of movement in an externally hammered semi auto will make a difference.

And while I have no video like the internet experts, I did splint the thumb of an idiot that tried that over twenty years ago with a 1911. Cried all the way to the ER.

Saw a guy peel the front of his thumb off like that shooting a p38 about 50 years ago. I don't think his thumb was pushing on slide though just up behind it.
