Robert Duvall Crossed The Great Divide
He was 95 and had a long good run. I do wonder if John Taffin and some of our other friends welcomed him.

Re: Robert Duval Crossed The Great Divide
A buddy of mine texted me a couple hours ago, said he was listening to an expose' about Mr Duval.
Apparently he was a Navy brat. He joined the Army, barely qualified with a rifle.
I'll always remember him from Apocalypse Now, his line of 'I love the smell of napalm in the morning ' is probably what most folks remember.

Sad to see the last great ones fade out of the public eye. Almost forgotten as the person not the character, remembered perhaps as a legend, while close friends and family are the only ones to also witness the inevitable sunset of greatness

He can finally go rest in that little stand of trees called Clara's Orchard.

He'll no longer need that "Therapeutic paper". Probably pure heaven for an old cowboy.
Re: Robert Duvall Crossed The Great Divide
Surely was a great actor , lonesome dove and open range , being two of my favorite westerns .
After reading his filmography , there’s a whole bunch of movies I need to watch .

Re: Robert Duvall Crossed The Great Divide
I feel like his best was in "Lonesome Dove", but he really did do a lot of stuff over the years, like "Lucky Ned Pepper" in True Grit and Boo Radley in "To kill a Mockingbird". I loved him in "Apocalypse Now". And he did a bunch more, he will be missed, that's for sure.
