Local shop has a -6 10 shot , and a -5 6 shot .both used , Is one any better than the other assuming same condition .

I'd go with the 6" 10-shot model. Less reloading and more shooting. Cylinder is plenty strong enough for the .22 rimfire cartridge.

For a gun the size of the 617, why not go with the 10 shot. Now the smaller 63 is the perfect size for the small 6 shot cylinder.

How is extraction when dealing with 10 cases .?
That’s a dash 6 , not 6” , sorry for the confusion.

My shooting partner has a ten shot 617 with 6" barrel and has no problem ejecting for instance five fired rounds occupying only half the cylinder. There's no binding at all.

I have a 4" 10 shot 617-6 (not 317). Easy ejection and accurate. Individual guns will most likely influence accuracy and or reflect build quality more than dash numbers.

This is the kind of accuracy I would like to see. I've been looking (not urgently) for a .22 LR double action to replace my near-40 year old Taurus Model 94. I never could find any ammo that is shot well (the best was Federal "Lightning"). I'm in no hurry and looking for a deal, but would like to find such a gun before I retire so I can enjoy it when I actually have time to shoot more!
