OT – A tender moment… ruined
Those of you with kids will appreciate this. Those without may consider it a form of birth-control!
I took the family to Mass yesterday evening. It was a nice service. A wedding had ended shortly before Mass started. During the service a child was baptized, and a couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary was honored. It was the priest’s 28th anniversary of his ordination was well – so just a special day all the way around.
We were driving back home and I was commenting on how the Mass covered all three “highlights” for a couple – their wedding (earlier in the day), a baptism and a big anniversary after a long, happy life together. Just then the song “Silly Little Love Songs” but Paul McCartney (during his days with “Wings”) came on. Just seemed like fate – the most important “things” in my life – my wife and children – were with me in the car. I was looking into my beautiful wife’s eyes just feeling blessed by God, and all was right in the world.
I could tell she was feeling the same. I reached over to touch her hand, extending two fingers to wrap around hers – our own little way we say “I Love You” whenever we can. Just then, out of the “peanut gallery” behind us my 6-year daughter old chimes in…
“Mom, PLEASE don’t pull Daddy’s finger!”
So much for romance! I figure, maybe in a dozen years we’ll get the chance again…
But the little crumb-crunchers are worth it!!!

If she's the one from the pictures with the pink rifle, she definitely looks like a pistol.

She is - and she certainly is!!!
She is at that age where she catches more and more or what is said and what is going along, has a comment for everything, and no filter whatsoever!!!

Jay, I'm sorry to hear your tender moment was ruined ( all be it in a funny way).
But just hearing Paul McCartney would kill any thought of tenderness for me. That tree hugger has done a lot to get Fox Hunting in the UK banned. I even walk out of shops if they play any of his music!

way too late for me and my wife - out third is 14 1/2 - so 3 1/2 years and we're free!
Glad we did it though - all three are great people and our hard work (and God's grace) has (thus far) seemed to pay off

Y Kid, you could tell your darling l'il girl:
(a) At $4.00 a gallon, you won't be wasting "any gas" these days.
or
(b) Not to worry, your finger was "unloaded" at the time.
Cute story, thanks for sharing (was wondering how it was gonna end...)
