Want to Buy or Trade:
1. Marlin 336A Deluxe in 35 Rem. Caliber with Marlin deluxe wood in original used condition. These rifles were made between 1948 and 1962.
2. Marlin 336A Deluxe in 32 Special with Bishop wood in original used condition. This will have a check piece and should be nicely grained. The Bishop wood became available mid 50's.
I need these 2 rifles to complete a 9 rifle set. I have an extra 336 ADL in 30-30 and 35Rem. with the Bishop wood and an extra 1949 Model 336 ADL in 32 Special with Marlin deluxe wood that I can trade or buy outright. Please PM me if you have one of these rifles. Thanks in Advance.

Well I wish I had what you are asking about. My plain-Jane 336A's are a couple of my favorites.

I've got a 1949 Marlin 336A-DL but the wood is plain.

Re: WTB-Two Marlin Deluxe rifles
If anyone is interested in seeing what a Bishop stocked ADL looks like there are pictures of one on G-B today item # 1109892849. This is what I am looking for in a 32 Spl caliber. I have 2 of these in 35 Rem and 2 in 30-30. But The 32 Special still eludes me. This is the first ADL Bishop that I have seen for sale.

.
No such rifles I have to offer, but isn't it amazing how so many of us have this compulsion to 'complete a set' - whether of guns or whatever...?
I have many times bought a firearm I in no way 'need', just because I have the 16" version, and the 24" version - so of course I have to have the 20" version to 'complete my set'.
As my wife will happily (and gently) point out, the 20" won't fill the 'short gun' or 'long gun' niche as well as either of the ones I ALREADY have, and as far as 'being somewhat good at both' tasks, why would I need a compromise-gun when I have the others...?
Fill in the blanks for other 'sets' - models, chamberings, barrel lengths, or whatever - and it is an endless money-drain.
At least for firearms, most often they can be USED and not just 'collected', and they seldom fail to appreciate in value. Not much you can do with baseball-cards other than look at them, although the right ones for a 'set' there can fetch quite a chunk of money.
