Australian Police Surplus G27

Post by 2ndovc »

Found these Queensland police trade in pistols and couldn't pass up the price and chance to add another PD pistol to my collection.
On top of that, it's a good shooter. A bit on the snappy side since it's a .40 S&W but still a fun shooter.
Pistol has an Aus. proof on the slide and a Q in the serial number for Queensland. I burnt through a couple of magazines of 180 gr. Winchester defense and Blazer Brass w/out issue. No surprise there.

They are a hard-hitting small pistol. I had a 27 but swapped the barrel for .357 Sig.

Looks like a very nice shooter Jason! I don't know why the .40 fell off the charts.

I always thought the .357 Sig was a cool cartridge. I've only fired one once and wanted one until I decided that I didn't need another cartridge to reload and obsess over.
I got into the .40 kind of by accident. I bought one of the Blackhawk 10mm/ .40 S&W convertibles only for the 10mm then a friend gave me a box of .40s and told me I was missing out. Four more .40 cal pistols later, I guess he was right and knows me pretty well. After that he gave me a G23 that has I keep in a back pack in my company wheels.
