I thought he was still in charge of the FBI but not the ATF

You're right - I corrected the post title.
Still weird. Why the change...?
I haven't heard much from/about Bongino, either.

I guess this quote sums it up: "...It remains unclear how the leadership change at ATF could affect the way it regulates the firearms industry, or why Driscoll was tapped to lead it..."

Doc, you are quoting msn as though it is a credible source? It is submerged in the swamp. It is the slough of despond.AJMD429 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 6:01 am .

i don't believe a word any of them says out loud, including fox snooze. The tell? They continually quote the tariff mis-information on every fear-mongering story about the economy. without as much as a hint of a believable counter to their narrative.
a counter-point? the "big short", someone who makes fortunes shorting the overwrought markets, someone who knows how stuff works, says Pres. Trump is correct and his plan will work. That guy I credit, but the commie narrative is puke, designed to kill the President and terrify the citizens. it is only propaganda. A real "media" would be calming down people rather than instigating chaos.
and another note, the People are not causing market swings, the snooze cycle and the computers are doing this. it is simple-simon-simple to stampede the markets, and almost all block trading is computers chasing each other. a big down day is the dream of every day-trader. there are some small individuals trading markets, but compared to the total market size they are a rounding error in capacity. it's the computers and the breathless announcements of the falling skies that is running the boards. IT IS NOT THE People.
I had a job on wall st. working for a trader at a small shop with maybe 8 traders. on quiet days they would stampede the markets and go home happy. It worked like this, the boss said "call so-and-so and buy 10,000 shares of xz". "Hello this is someone at the bucket shop, what's your price on xz? Ok, I'll take ten thousand. You're welcome." Every trader and the assistants made the same call at the same time. In a few minutes the phones would start ringing. "Hello, you have any xz, we're out." BOOM
Now days the functional equivalent is a room full of computers doing the same kind of thing, but lightning fast and enormous quantities. They create the volatility they trade by stampeding the computers. It's relentless chaos in one sense.

I guess he is wanting to focus on the FBI more. That's probably good.
However I hope this other guy Driscoll is going to roll some heads at the corrupt ATF -

He was acting director, so maybe the new guy is the permanent one for now? Let's hope he is pro-gun. I imagine Trump will keep him on a short lease.
