Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Yeah partridge (grouse). The stupid ones are spruce partridge. They are illegal to shoot here.
I sucked up my leaves again this week and it was wicked dusty here too. The leaves are down up there. There is a few still up here.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Partridge…that’s the bird I remember…….still have some pics from 1976 with an old 1892…….
I’ve been reading lots of quotes from Denzel Washington……good stuff….he says when people are authentic and tell it like it is are hated by most everyone else and that’s because most people live lives of deception and want other people to think they are someone they are not. Now you, know why I say Rossi’s and Italian guns are junk…not all, you might get lucky, but most are j.u.n.k.——00
Now, ask me if I give a F what others say.
Being financially comfortable, not rich, will allow you to be who you are and that burns most people up because they are too stupid to manage money properly.
A strong minded person has an inner circle of 1 or 2 friends, sometimes none as he knows what people are capable of.
Everyone is your friend when you are giving but if you are asking, no one will show up except those 1 or 2. I remember that after the tornado of 2019.
Never reveal everything about yourself….it makes people squirm in their seat. Forgot how many people have asked me, “how did you get that?” I tell them “nunya” or “Argo”……..I learned that from a 1% er.
When you air your dirty laundry to the public (like here) (I never do) 80% of people don’t care and 10% of people will be happy.

Just walked out of the back door and flushed a Partridge by the fence, didn't have a shotgun with me but would probably have missed anyway...

Back to work tonight. I took all 3 days off last weekend for my DIL and granddaughter being here, plus the oldest boys wedding. Been home for 2 weeks. Sucks going back.
First day of hunting season tomorrow. Gonna be a good day, but I'm gonna miss it. Looks like the weather is going to suck for the next two weeks. Either rain or warm Temps.
Oh well.
Hey GK,
I didn't know you guys had partridge over there.

Jay, we got two types of Partridge over here, French and Grey we have Red Grouse and Black Grouse also. I used to rear French Partridge (red legs) for the shoot and they were a lot more intelligent than the Pheasants.

Ours look like this. Spruce partridge is the only other type we have in our state. They are very similar in appearance to these.

That’s got to be the thickest recoil pad I’ve ever seen. That gun looks mighty new.
The picture looks nice. Reminds me of Kirk D’s pictures with all the leaves. A new pair of nice clean gloves would complete it.

It's a youth model 870. I like shorter barrels, especially if I have screw in chokes. It's just a cheapie garbage shotgun. Maybe 15 or 20 years old. I bought it used for a couple hundred bucks.
I have that sweet Parker 20ga., but I hate to use it out of the truck or Jeep.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Look at all of the fun your missing by not using that Parker…….they make these things called gun cases. You could dress up like a cultured Englishman like GK, hold your head high and march through your 200 acres like you own the place.
That’s your business what you use…..to me, the gun I’m using is as or more important than the hunt…..
Hey! Check this out…….its got 4 stars out of 5. Hooks right up to your circular saw, electric or battery….$89 at

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
We were road hunting for birds. Can't really use a case as it's too slow. If I was walking at camp or anywhere else, I would definitely take the Parker. I'm like that too with the guns, but a little less so the last few years. I really do t want to use something nice if the weather is crummy. Heck, Ive gotten so I don't like to hunt at all if it's crummy out.
I can't imagine there would be much power left from my battery skills saw to run the chainsaw attachment. But I don't have a very good battery skillsaw either. I should get a better one, but I dont use thise a lot.

Brad, F if I know……it’s on the Harbor Freight website……Im thinking you take off the thing that rides (blade coverer?) up and down off and that whole thing that’s in the picture bolts on…….i can’t see it have any real power. If anyone knows what chainsaw power is, it’s you…”da man with a chainsaw!) I bet you wore out 500 chainsaws in your time……tell us some stories about metal stuff you hit or anything else that us city slickers never heard about……..nice to see you hanging around. Stop in more often, you for right in with we rednecks……ahhhh, dunno Brad, I’d probably rather have a gas saw but I did do that tree the other day with an EGO battery saw…probably only weighs 5 pounds without the battery. Stories bro…stories….want to hear some….——006 Say hi to Boots….you lucky dog!
Jay, you’re a big boy and would chew my A up in one punch but I’m telling you that your p afied……take the damm thing out and hunt with it….i had that near mint 1886 out in snowstorm out west, along with that 95 I sold your boy……used the 86 carbine several times…in fact I’ll go as far as saying EVERY big game and small game hunt. (not birds) I went on (several hundred) was used with an antique Winchester except 2 deer I shot with a 7 mag Remington….probably 20 deer with the 33.

Me and mom were watching the part in “Deliverence” tonight with Ned Beatty stripping his clothes off and the hillbillie telling to “drop those drawers and squeal like a pig”: he was twisting Ned’s ear real hard all the time telling him to squeal…..”come on boy! You squeal real hard, just like a pig”. and Ned is squealing……I couldn’t stop laughing….
I bet Ned got teased all his life…..if I was around him, I’d sneak up behind him and squeeze his ear, “come on boy,,you squeal!”.

Yeah. I figured he must have really needed the money before taking that gig.
Nobody in the world can help but hear "squeal like a pig" when the see Ned Beatty. That's pretty bad.

And don’t forget Jayster…..after he got that hole in his forehead, Mark Walberg said, “exactly”.
You and I both know there are so many fabricated inaccuracies in movies…..investigators would have gone through that house and found evidence…….and like at the end of the movie, like the head of the DOJ is going to let Mark have a meeting in a private room with his gun and then gets handed a cartridge……that’s B.S. on swapping out firing pins. 99.99 % of the time they will, work just fine……..plus, he had a wicked flinch when he pulled the trigger…….

Haha yup. Every time I watch something I pick apart all the BS. Drives my wife nuts.
It would be so refreshing if a movie was accurate and realistic. Of course, then it would be depressing and too much like real life.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Back in yhe 70s i cut a huge old rock elm, dead center i see some thing shinny, well i dug it out & it was a lead
ball, i cut some of it off, no idea how much but was the size of my thumb nail & maybe as deep as my thumb
i counted the growth rings & came up with about 220, was hard to count the later years as they were bout a dozen per inch, so the ball was in the tree for 200 years or so, ive done some searching & found in that part of northern Wisconsin at that time it may have been some Frenchman or a native that could have had the gun, but very few whites at the tim it was very close to the river & ive know guys that have found some nice Indian rocks in that area
in the black hills i cut into a glass insulter for an old telegraph wire one time i didnt see it while limbing the tree
guess what, it sure screwed up a new chain, still have the ball & the insulater
more later on the logging times
Brad

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
That’s really cool….no doubt a Frenchman…..did you ever think about seeing if a professional could find blood on it? That would be super cool…….yea, elm have long lives……….my sisters husband has a saw mill and maybe 20 years ago he handed me several bullets in almost perfect condition……he too, counted the rings up to the bullets and it was about 100. The wood was red oak. I took them home and they measured .476….sometime around 1900 someone was shooting a British Eley revolver. (I think Eley)
I know several tree surgeons who do residential work and they tell me it’s a horror to cut trees that are near houses…….they say the hooks from clothes lines are a common destroyer of chains.—-006

That's awesome OL! I love stuff like that.
At the base of Mt. Kineo, on Moosehead lake, there is some real unique flint. It's supposedly the best arrow head stock in the world and easily identified. It's been found as arrowheads all over the US.

Yea dude…it is cool S…….you would think that Indians lived their entire lives within a 25 mile radius……they got around.
I have a box full of quartz stuff that I found after I had the pond dredged a few years back…..and that’s just the stuff that was laying on top…weird looking spear points……tiny pieces of flakes I could fill a bucket with….I just don’t know nothing about it. This area was full of the Lenin-Lenape Indians……my favorite hardware store, (you know ) the Brandywine Hardware is on Lenape Rd.
In the end though, it don’t mean nothing as we are nothing more than the next inhabitants.

Yeah. There's some sketchy stuff going on these days. Can't even trust your eyes no more. They say we got a tranny here at work now. Up in the other building. I haven't seen it, and hope I don't.
We got a kid that works down here sometimes. We call him Screech. Good enough guy, but not wrapped too tight. He blurts out some of the most unbelievable stuff for this day and age. It's almost refreshing. I'd really like to be there when thus kid gets a look at that tranny. Now that would be funny.

Hey…..I like that Fredo! In the beginning of the series, there was either an onlooker or a cameraman behind the sled on the extreme right hand side of the photo……(the sled is shown)….(like, WTF is a sled doing in southern Cal.? I must have seen every episode 5 times…….you really want to see something funny?…..go to You Tube and type in “Beverly Hillbilly episodes”. ….then type in Beverly Hills gun club….and you’ll see Jethro shooting clay birds with a ‘92 Winchester….then, after laughing, type in Leo Durocher playing golf with the Beverly Hillbillies.” and on the golf course Jethro throws a baseball several hundred yards right into a knot on the tree………
The very, very best humor comes from the 3 stooges, Sanford &Son, Seinfeld, and the Hillbillies…..no trash, no nudity, no foul language, no killing, just good ole fun…
Funny thing, I took Miss Apple for a walk yesterday evening and my BIL was in his blind hunting so I turned around and walked back to the house……sitting outside, there were 4 deer, two does and two decent bucks eating out in the back 2….…….My BIL was in his blind maybe 100 meters away……the deer just ate until it got dark…..and lived to see another day. —-0014 and 7/8ths

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Six, kind of cool all them Indian rocks in your yard, my old place in Wis. i was useing my log skidder
to doze a pit to burry the old out house & other things, well down about 3 ft. i hit some charcoal, so i got out & kicked around & found some old animal bones & an stone arrow head, how old was that?
I cut in EauClaire Wis. back in the 70s, big wind kicked up & blew over alot of trees, the part of town i was at
was the older part of town where a 100 years before that evey one had a horse in the yard, so all the old trees was full of hard ware, from wire, to chains holding forked trees together, concrete to plug wood pecker holes
I charged the land owner the price of a new chain for every one ruined, no one complained

…Cool Ologger……they must have been the golden years…….but at the time, you guys probably just thought it was old junk……
….lots of history below the ground…..most of the time people don’t know what they have…like me, those spear points may be 10K years old…..got to take some pics as some look like a hammer ……
Just took some pics…not much, but for sure, stones don’t form naturally like this…..several have a look that came from the same “artist”.
Another thing, for every arrowhead or hammer or axe or whatever, made there were 50 that just didn’t “make the grade” and were tossed to the side……this area, out back was no doubt a “working area” full of quartz everywhere in one small spot, maybe 30’ x 50’……
Maybe one day if I get as educated as Old Savage I’ll get it figured out but I don’t have much time left being 70. .
The one in the second picture at the uppper left looks just like a slice of a load of bread! I know it’s coincidental but funny.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Six no doubt them rocks had a purpose, they look real old to me, pretty crude but im no expert
so whats the length on the big rocks, looks like they could be choppers for cutting meat & bone
went & cut up some wood today with the old Husky, bought that saw in 88, Boots cut bout 100 full cords of fire wood with it, i bucked logs with it for 8 years & 29 years living here it has cut 3 - 4 full cord yearly, ive wore out
alot of saws in my life, but this one is unreal!! its a 268, chains, sprockets, bars & a clutch or 2 is the only things
that have wore out, oh spark plugs also ,all routine wear & tare, no new jugs & pistons, carbs or seals
Brad

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
I hear ya Brad…..my thought is that it was a “working area” and for every good spear point probably 10 didn’t make the grade so they just tossed them to the side….kind of like “seconds” as stone does not split or crack the way you want it to…..theres just too much there for me to think otherwise…….
You obviously know how to maintain a saw and of course, that’s the main endeavor for longevity……run good gas mixed properly, clean after EVERY use, keep the chain sharp to keep the motor from overheating/overworking, air filter kept clean, compressed air at 60-80 lbs to blow everything off, etc…….lots of guys will use anything for bar oil and seem to never have a problem…..Im a bit picky and bar oil is cheap……I’ll buy a gallon at a time which lasts at least a year or two. People will try to save a dollar on bar oil by using ATF or used engine oil…..ahhhh, I like nice clean oil at the proper viscosity.
Boots runs the saw? Dang, you got a good gal there. There’s a woman on You Tube who has a small engine repair shop and she comes up with lots of good inside info….She goes by “Chickanic” and lets the average guy do simple stuff to keep all of your small engines running. I have, at last count,14 small engines to maintain and I must be doing something right as everyone of them will fire right up.
Had a Pa State Police detective taking pictures of my big Trump sign out front……I have lots of wires running all over to make people think it’s a rigged or something. I have to do this or these liberals will come on the property at nighttime to destroy it…..somebody played “rat/troublemaker” on me…..and life goes on.—-006

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
They must be identifying the troublemakers. The ones who are trying to "destroy democracy ".
That's a lot of hours on a saw engine for sure. Of course, it was made in the 80s, just like my old Stihl 028WB. Never been apart.
My guess is a new saw will never last that long. My 545 Husky is around 3 years old, so I will probably find out.
It runs and cuts good, but I'm not a huge fan of the Autotune garbage.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Yea….me neither, on the auto tune…..that’s how my new weed whacker is…..I DO NOT LIKE IT…..$550 and it doesn’t wind out as in Rpm’s and the guy told me that’s how they are…….I to,d you before about the small engine expert near me and how people are burning up their 2 stroke stuff with 50-1 mix and he told me “use 40-1” and that’s what I’ve been using for several years and the plugs are clean as it the spark arrester….its these F college professors pushing this S. Companies and the Feds know we are gonna do what we want so they made it “UN adjustable”
The only good thing is I F over the STIHL by pretty much destroying the adjustments on the first one I bought. Because I’m so spiteful I think a good thing to do is to buy a dozen 2 stroke stuff from STIHL ….then use a needle nose pliers to turn the adjustments all the while putting a little sand in the chamber or just running pure gas and then take it back and acting stupid, which for me, comes natural.
Dang, you know if you buy something, it’s YOURS to do as you please but they have to get in your own backyard these days. All of this green S makes no sense if we are the only country who has to follow it.
There will be hundreds of people going past the house tomorrow to vote at the church, most are liberals so the match to the old tire right in the middle of the yard billowing black smoke should be fun.
Yea….no doubt that was a police detective taking pictures yesterday…coat and tie driving a long sedan…..no phone pictures as he had some kind of a fancy camera, adjusting the lens and so forth……..F people just can’t mind their own business anymore.
Then they have to kill Peanut the squirrel and the man’s coon, both of whom he loved and fed well…12 cops and a search warrant for a 1/2 lb squirrel. I’d like to see them try that S here.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
028 Stihl, they were a great saw for its size, had one & as most saws i put a KN hi velosity stack on
gained alot of power & also ran 5 - 10 minutes longer on a tank of gas
Jack I dont let Boots run the saw any more, when i was delivering propane 6 & 7 days aweek, she would
go down to the river & cut a load of dead cotton wood ( bout 20 years ago } in Wis she would buck the logs as i was skidding them in & id drag in dead oak & she would cut & split them in her spare time, some times id have a 1/5
mile drag, she split alot of the wood by hand, but when her arms got bigger than mine i bought her a
wood splitter
OW the flint mine up your way most be unique as to find it all over the country
bout 40 miles from here there is a old flint mine, when some cowboys found it years ago they thought the spainish was digging for gold, therefor calling it the spainish diggings, the name stuck but it was the indians digging flint

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
That's a good tip for the old 028! It's got an easy life now, though, and it's semi-retired.
Great old saws though. I have to admit, however, that Husky is a lot easier on me. Lighter and way less vibration.
I'll have to look that up. There is a special name for that flint. Supposedly, it was an important trade good between local tribes and those to the west.
Looked it up. It's Kineo rhyolite.
I don't know much about it, but supposedly it made the best arrow and spear points. Probably it was easy to knap, but that's just a guess.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Hey Jay…..you hear that from Ollogger? Ms.Boots would cut and split wood by hand…..damm! Why can’t I find a gal like that? Mine just hits the switch….Ill say, “give me a minute and I’ll build a fire”…she says, “too late a.h.” I tell ya, that Boots is somethin’….carrys a Ruger revolver around…shoots rattlesnakes…..she sure is a true Western girl! …..and hot too…that really is funny, cutting and splitting wood with hands bigger than Brads.
Oh well…BIG DAY TOMORROW……….got one guy coming over at 9 a.m. with a couple of revolvers he wants me to look at…….then it’s off to take mom to the doctors…….then to WaWa for eats and coffee…..then to the church to vote……….got my Trump T shirt and MAGA hat all ready along with my Redwing logger boots and jeans….I'm ready to fight….if Trump loses, you won’t hear from me for……forever?…..giving this country away to a mess of parasites? Looks that way as in my day someone like Harris couldn’t be dog catcher.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Haha yeah. Sounds like a good gal to me!
I'm not sure my wife could lift my splitting maul. But I've seen her lift my Colt LW Commander and walk a milk jug across the camp dooryard. So I talk nice to her.
I gotta go get her cherokee stickered in the morning. Then it's off to camp to hunt. Gonna go vote when I get home. Probably pissin in the wind, but I will anyway.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Didn't think I was gonna make it back to vote.
I got out of my stand this afternoon and got back to my trail bike at dark. Made the ride back to camp and got changed up.
We started out the camp road with the Gladiator and when we got up near the cable I could see something in the lights. WTF? I'd heard a diesel roaring while I was in my stand but thought it was a skidder and maybe they were going to cut the lot next to us. Nope.
When we got up to the cable (which is about 40 yards back from the road) there is a huge ditch surfacing machine parked in the road blocking it (they tarred the Brighton rd this fall!). There was a company name and phone number (from Millinocket) so I called it. And I feel bad for the poor slob that answered the phone. He told me it was leased out to a state job (naturally) and he'd have a guy from the crew call. The guy calls and I start in on him. He says the machine only goes a couple miles an hour and that the state DOT guy said it would be ok to park it there as there wasnt another spot for half a mile. I asked him if the DOT guy owns the property. He said no. I said "that's right, I do. That's why the road is cabled and there are no trespassing signs everywhere."
He said he was right in Bingham and was heading over to move it and apologized all over the place. Meanwhile, because I'm a hick and keep stuff in the truck, I cut some brush and got around it.
I called the guy back and told him I got out. I told him I wasn't trying to be a dick and if he wanted he could move it over another 4 or 5 feet and as long as I can get by he can leave it tonight.
The guy thanked me up and down and apologized again.
When I hung up I told my dad that I know I let him off easy and maybe he'd rather I didn't, but it was for a reason.
We don't know who this guy is, but he knows where our property is. He still had to screw up his evening, but now we look reasonable. Now the DOT guy is the dick.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Hey! Good for you bro…and remember…….those MF’ers are not there to be your friend……climb up their azz and give them nothing! If they want anything tell them to start writing a check…..that’s for real, my wife’s brother is one nasty individual and he don’t give them NOTHING without getting a check from his 260 acres upstate….……don’t be nice in anyway and with the guy apologizing shows fault on THEIR PART…..get em dude and make em pay, no different than THEY TAKE our tax dollars……..it doesn’t even have to be their fault…whatever it is YOU MAKE them PAY???even if they want a pine cone……..those rotten bast#+@s make me and you pay for everything so YOU make them pay no matter how trivial…..I’ll reduce that Pune cone down to a brown leaf….
I tell ya, I’m more pizzed about that than you are. It’s always been that way…those F’ers make us pay and the little guy thinks that by being nice they are going to have a plaque with your name on it….Sheeeeeeet, they will walk on you like your a dirty rag…..get em dude!!!
Off the subject I had a couple of hours worth of leaf gathering at my in-laws so I told mom to go out and get us some good eats for the party tonight…I handed her a couple of Ben’s and it’s all gone. That’s just how women are. …it cost me 2 hundred for a few hoagies, steaks, and some Truly Unruly seltzer..
So far it looks good, the same way it did 4 years ago and when I got up the next morning it was all reversed. At the polls, today some democrat handed me some paperwork which I didn’t take and told her, “look, we have 4 acres and if I vote Democratic that means there will be a least an acre confiscated by eminent domain and I’ll have 20 beaners living next to me….no thank you. I know all,of these people and the 3 Republicans were standing there laughing their butts off……I was MAGA from head to boots.
