If we were actually allowed to TALK to 'Liberals'...

#1 Post by AJMD429 » Wed Nov 13, 2019 5:01 pm

...think of all the things we COULD say/ask (but can't, because it might 'offend' them...

Like "Hmmm.....is it normal for only one side to be able to call 'witnesses' in a trial...???"

or

"...if speaking out and contradicting claims of a 'whistleblower' is 'obstruction', then what do you call smashing hard drives and phones, and refusing to provide the FBI the computers they need to inspect...???"

What other things would YOU like to ask the 'liberals'....???

If interfering in an election by a sitting Second Term President isn't Election Interference, then what is?

Well, that one didn't count, because he was black, and the other one involved was female. You're clearly being 'divisive' if you are wanting BHO and Hillary to be treated the same way as Orange Man...

Would you mind going over there and standing with your back against that wall while I load my assault rifle?

What the House is doing is more akin to a Grand Jury and there the 'defense' can be present and can ask questions of witnesses called by the prosecutor as the Republican Representatives have done & will continue to do.

THen, assuming there is credible evidence to support the charge, an indictment or bill will be returned, and then the trial will begin in the Senate.

This is the same procedure that was used in the Clinton impeachment proceedings and is laid out in the Constitution. If the House leadership had done otherwise the White House and Republicans would have turned to the SCOTUS already for remedy. The fact there has been no official effort (just lots of public complaining) demonstrates that the GOP leadership knows nothing has been done that is not within the rules laid out in the Constitution.

Wm

P.S. Don't be fooled by GOP protestations ..... If the Schiff had elected to do all this in front of cameras in an opening hearing they would and did plan on complaining that this should have been done in private to avoid politicizing it and all this was done for the benefit of public grandstanding. Schiff chose closed hearings so then they complained it was done in secret (even though transcripts were made available of all the hearings).

You can support or not support Trump without buying into the obvious polticiking by either side.

There are the facts and there is the spin.

It is NOT laid out in the Constitution. The Constitution does not specify how the House is to conduct an inquiry or even if it has to conduct an inquiry. The Constitution only specifies that the House has sole authority to impeach or bring a charge of impeachment to the Senate and the trial and fate of the impeached party is decided by the Senate.
