Trump Shouldn't Sign It

#1 Post by AJMD429 » Fri Feb 15, 2019 6:36 am

The idea that congress could produce 100 pages a day these past couple weeks, and fill it with all sorts of loopholes and things that undermine rather than improve border security, AND even sabotage the things he could do under a 'National Emergency' declaration, and he would still sign it, is terrible...!

Plus, the courts will likely nullify whatever he does under emergency powers, even though they let Obummer do whatever he wanted pretty much. :|

None of this would be happening if the Republicans didn't suck, and they had actually done what they promised when they had control of the legislature.

I heartily agree Doc. Just write a big, red VETO on it.

Thing is, is, when we had control of the House, the Senate was NOT really under our control. Even now, there are not enought Senatorial votes to get cloture, which needs 60 votes. Can't pass it if you can't get it off the table. But, I think you knew that. :P

Unless he signs this one and when they play games he holds their feet to the fire next year. They won't have any wiggle room then.

There are $130,000,000,000 in automatic budget cuts at the end of the year, and he could waive them on the condition that a bunch of them go towards border walls, etc.

Roberts has been a bit of a disappointment of late, but let's hope POTUS can fast track it to SCOTUS asap. (I wonder who' been writing for RBG? I think we need proof of life and sanity, there)
