PA has been moving steadily toward democratic control for sometime now. It driven primarily by the big cities of Philly, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Erie along with the entire eastern part of the state that is full of New Jersey and New York refuges. It's interesting in that they flee those states to get away from the mess and then vote the same mess in here. Fortunately we still have a decent preemption law on the books that can and has in the past blocked Pittsburgh but each year bills are introduced to gut preemption. I fear in 5 years or less it will be gone. Similar has happened in VA as will. Northern VA is the tail the wags the dog.

"It's interesting in that they flee those states to get away from the mess and then vote the same mess in here."

That's what we eventually did in leaving Europe's feudalism and top-down control of the peasant-class, to create a grass-roots social order where there were not entrenched 'rulers' with unlimited power to rule over the peasants, but merely temporarily-elected 'leaders' who were given limited authority BY the peasants. But now the smart/working/honest class is too busy working extra jobs to pay taxes to politicians so they can buy votes from the stupid and the dishonest 'electorate'....so now we are emulating Europe.... :|

It is close to happening in Texas. Nacho O'Rourke dang near bought the election. I guess that is what happens when you have someone who is as Mexican as Taco Bell running for election with more donation money than a presidential candidate.
