270 Sako Alll for trade

#1 Post by Jim-Curlee » Tue Sep 03, 2019 10:18 am

I have a nice 270 Sako Alll, made 79-80.
2x7 Redfield widefield scope.
Very nice condition, a couple dings, and some brush scratch's in the stock, the blueing is great, even at the muzzle.
I'd like to trade it for a shootable vintage lever action, would also consider a nice 20 gauge SxS.
I'd need an email address for pics.
I live in northern Minnesota.
Thanks
Jim

Do you have a cash price in mind?

Blaine;
No price in mind.
I follow the gun sites, so I have a pretty good idea as to what they think the Sako is worth, and that's pretty much what I paid. No deals, even from friends. LOL
I like to trade doesn't matter if it's Harleys, bamboo flyrods, or guns.
Money is necessary, but I'd get the money spend it on bills, and end up with nuthin.
In a trade I get something I want, and the other guy gets something he wants.
I don't understand why more people aren't traders, it's a win win for both parties. I've been a trader, since I was a kid, got it from my grandpa.
I'm old, and I still like guns with wood stocks, and blued or browned barrels. I'm not a collector of one brand or style of gun, I like most of the vintage stuff, as long as it has a purpose for me. An AR15 might be worth more money, but I wouldn't trade you anything for one, I would have no use for it.
We retired last year, and moved to our upnorth place. I bought the Sako thinkin it would be the cats meow, it's not.
She's way too much gun for my land, the deer I killed last year were taken at less than 50 yards, too much brush/trees to see any further.
Both of the deer I shot were taken with one of my Marlin lever actions.
I'd also consider trades on Colt/S&W handguns, I like them too. lol
Would also add cash for something I want.
So that leaves her pretty much wide open, if you have a Colt SAA, I'd give you the Sako, and a handful of cash.
I'm not out to dick anybody, and that's exactly how I wanted to be treated.

The logistics of long distance trading make it difficult.
If you have no value on your item, people lose interest.
I have a 20 gauge double I'd trade if it was something other than a 270

Vance:
Whenever I trade, I end up mailing something.
The gun dealer makes a buck transferring my gun, and the post office makes a buck sending my package.
That way we all get screwed a little, and the world keeps on a spinnin. LOL
If I can do it face to face great, but alot of my trading is over the net.
Can't do anything about makin the rifle anything other than a 270. LOL
If I put too high of a price on my stuff people lose interest too, I lose interest when you want to trade me a $250 gun for a $500 gun.
Trading is entertainment for me, lots of guy's look at guns as an investment, I don't.
I learned along time ago to buy something because I like it, not because I think it's going to go up in value.
The Sako is a nice rifle, I'm not going to use it, it will just sit in my gunsafe, I just want to trade it for something I can use.
Got a new Brittany pup, wouldn't mind a nice 20 gauge for grouse hunting.
